Power Systems Modeling Engineering Intern – Energy Storage Systems
Energy Vault
• Design and perform verification tests of grid interactive inverters in the Power System Modeling simulation environment • Work with internal and external teams to determine system requirements and verify our solution will meet and exceed project requirements
Job Requirements
- Current Master’s or Ph.D. student, or equivalent, with research focus on grid interactive inverters with solid power systems/power electronics background.
- Strong interest in renewable energy and energy storage industry.
- Technical knowledge of grid-forming, grid-following inverters and power plant controller.
- Deep technical experience on Electro Magnetic Transients (EMT) simulation PSCAD, and Matlab/Simulink, PSS/E, TSAT, DigSilent.
- Hands-on experience with User Defined Modeling (UDM) and automation tools using C, Fortran, Python.
- Experience with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing.
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards such as UL 1741, IEEE 1547, IEEE 2800.
