Job Description

Manager, Payroll Operations – EMEA

Remote

• The Payroll team will report to you and you will provide them with guidance and mentorship. • The Manager, Payroll Operations will own the complete payroll function, ensuring payroll is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with country specific government regulations. • Serve as a point of contact between internal and external stakeholders on all payroll related matters. • Lead the Payroll team, unblock and support them. • Be up to date with various international payroll laws / regulations. • Ensure compliance with all corporate and country-specific regulations, policies and procedures. • Manages existing relationships with payroll, accounting and payroll service providers. • Develop and implement best practices, key performance indicators and SLA metrics for the team.

Job Requirements

  • Large experience in regional / global payroll operations.
  • Understanding of global payroll best practices.
  • Experience in implementing payroll in multiple countries and in managing relationships with third party payroll services.
  • You are passionate about managing people, and you don't micromanage your reports.
  • Proficient in using software tools like SAP, Excel / Google Sheet.
  • An analytical mindset with great problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, international work environment with a passion for making an impact.
  • Is a productivity geek and will constantly think of ways to improve and speed up their work.
  • You understand the need and ideal to work largely asynchronously.
  • It's not required to have experience working remotely, but is considered a plus.
  • You write and speak fluent English.
  • Demonstrates strong automation and AI capabilities.

Role Description Jeppesen ForeFlight is seeking a Senior Payroll Manager to support U.S. payroll operations. This role partners closely with the Payroll Manager to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing for our U.S. employee population. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented payroll professional who enjoys working behind the scenes to validate data, improve processes, and strengthen system integrity. The Senior Payroll Manager will play a critical role in payroll review, workforce management coordination, and systems optimization as we continue to scale. - Partner with the Payroll Manager to process semi-monthly U.S. payroll, ensuring accuracy and timeliness - Review, validate, and approve payroll data prior to submission, including earnings, deductions, taxes, and adjustments - Assist with schedule configuration and maintenance for non-exempt employees in UKG - Support timekeeping audits and ensure proper overtime and shift differential calculations - Maintain and monitor integrations between UKG, benefits platforms (e.g., Fidelity), and other payroll-related systems - Identify and resolve discrepancies between payroll, timekeeping, and benefits systems - Support quarterly audits, tax filings, reconciliations, and reporting requirements - Assist with payroll-related process documentation and internal controls - Recommend and implement process improvements and system optimizations - Respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees and internal stakeholders in a timely and professional manner - Support compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience) - 5+ years of experience in U.S. payroll processing - Strong knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations and wage/hour compliance - Experience supporting both exempt and non-exempt employee populations - Hands-on experience with UKG (or similar payroll/timekeeping systems) - Experience managing payroll system integrations (e.g., 401(k), benefits providers) - Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail - Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality - Excellent organizational and communication skills Requirements - Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation - Experience supporting payroll for 250+ employees - Experience in a high-growth or evolving operational environment - Advanced Excel skills, including reconciliations and reporting - Familiarity with audit support and internal controls - Experience optimizing payroll workflows and system configurations Benefits - Medical, dental, and vision insurance with employer-paid health premiums - Open PTO Policy - 401(k) with up to 10% company matching and immediate vesting - 12 Weeks Paid Maternity Leave - 4 Weeks Paid Paternity Leave - Flight Training Rewards Pay Information Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
