Role Description The candidate hired to fill this position will work with other members of the recorded music copyright registration team to register WMG’s sound recordings and related artwork and music videos with the United States Copyright Office (USCO) for Lithuania HQ. Here you’ll get to: - Work in coordination with members of our team to draft and file copyright registrations with the USCO for all new sound recordings, music videos, and related artwork, and maintain detailed and accurate records regarding same; - Consult and coordinate with various internal teams to secure information, documents, and materials needed for copyright registration and recordation purposes; - Review recording agreements, contracts, and license agreements to confirm copyright ownership and chain of title; - Prepare documents pertaining to the transfer or change in copyright ownership for recording with the USCO; Qualifications - Eager to learn, self-motivated, with a willingness to take responsibility and ownership of tasks - Team player who is able to multi-task, prioritize, and maintain a standard of excellence under deadlines - Exceptional analytical and organizational skills - Strong digital literacy, including accurate data entry skills - Resourceful with a drive to research and seek out information Requirements - Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience - Prior music industry experience and/or a basic understanding of copyrights as it relates to sound recordings - Prior experience being responsible for administrative/clerical work Benefits - Salary Range: $28.00 to $30.00 Hourly - Salary ranges are included for job postings where required by law. Role Description The Licensing Temp will have the unique opportunity to work at the most progressive record companies in the music industry. In this role, you will have the opportunity to help develop and maintain business solutions for the Licensing Team, establish relationships with music publishers, and collaborate with various business units at Warner Music Group and U.S. Shared Services. Here you’ll get to: - Review, negotiate and secure mechanical and synchronization licenses and other publishing licenses covering the exploitation of musical compositions embodied on recordings and records that Lithuania HQ has released; - Research song titles and information about songwriters, music publishers and performing rights societies such as ASCAP, BMI, SESAC, the Mechanical Licensing Collective and the Harry Fox Agency; - Confirm publishing splits and writer credits, and vendor/payee names, addresses and other information with various music publishing companies and other publishing rights administrators; - Compile the necessary information regarding musical compositions embodied in the recordings and records that Lithuania HQ has released and then enter that information into WMG’s internal databases and royalty systems; - Respond to inquiries from music publishers and other music publishing rights administrators regarding the licenses they have issued to WMG; - Perform any other duties and tasks related to the Department’s role and responsibilities that might be assigned by the Team’s senior management from time to time.
