Principal Technical Solutions Architect
Akamai Technologies
• Leading enterprise technical discovery to understand business requirements and guide solution design. • Architecting cloud, edge, observability, and media streaming solutions across Akamai Connected Cloud. • Designing and building proof-of-concept solutions using Akamai technologies like LKE, EdgeWorkers, EdgeKV, and mPulse. • Providing pre-sales engineering support and managing opportunities from discovery through validation and production deployment. • Partnering with Qualified Computing Partners to deliver integrated solutions and lead joint customer engagements. • Creating technical enablement content, blogs, and hands-on labs to help field teams position solutions. • Leading customer workshops, hackathons, and labs focused on EdgeWorkers, APIs, transcoding, and edge computing. • Influencing product roadmap through customer feedback, advocacy, and documenting engagements via reviews and deal support.
Job Requirements
- 15yrs experience in technical pre-sales, solutions architecture, or related engineering roles
- Bachelor's degree or its equivalent
- Deep expertise in cloud platforms, distributed systems, Kubernetes, container orchestration, and Infrastructure as a Code
- Hands-on experience with edge computing, CDN technologies, and web performance optimization including Core Web Vitals
- Excellent understanding of media streaming technologies including live transcoding, VOD workflows, and video players
- Proven ability to design and deliver proof-of-concept solutions aligned to customer business requirements
- Effective in cross-functional collaboration with sales, product management, and engineering teams to support customer success
- Excellent communication skills leading workshops, executive presentations, and creating impactful technical content
- Proficient in modern development practices, APIs, databases, observability tools, automation, and mentoring junior engineers
