Job Description The Senior Microsoft 365 Engineer will serve as the primary technical authority for Exchange Online and key Microsoft 365 services within Symetra’s Productivity Team. This role is responsible for engineering, configuration, support, and continuous enhancement of the M365 ecosystem, with primary ownership of Exchange Online and secondary ownership of Microsoft Purview compliance implementations and Azure Entra ID identity integrations. You will lead the modernization and simplification of this clients messaging environment, including the strategic initiative to eliminate the remaining on‑premises hybrid Exchange footprint. This role also requires deep partnership with compliance, security, and key business stakeholders to ensure platform stability, regulatory alignment, and best‑practice adoption across a fully remote workforce. Senior Microsoft 365 Engineer Top Required Skills Exchange Online (Deep SME Level) - Extensive hands‑on administration, engineering, and troubleshooting experience in large enterprise environments. - Proven ability to lead the full migration from hybrid Exchange to a fully cloud‑based footprint. Microsoft Purview (Compliance & Retention) - Strong expertise implementing and managing retention, compliance, and regulatory policies—ideally within financial‑services or similarly regulated industries. Azure Entra ID (M365‑Focused Usage) - Solid understanding of authentication flows, Conditional Access, RBAC, and identity/service integrations across the M365 ecosystem. - Ability to operate as a Senior technical mentor and guide team members with varying levels of experience. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bellevue, WA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $60.00 - $70.00/hr.
