Role Description As a Packaging Designer, you’ll be responsible for creating, updating, and optimizing packaging across our full product ecosystem. You’ll work closely with the Creative Director to execute a cohesive brand experience for new flavor launches, new product innovations, special count configurations, and retailer-specific programs. This is a critical role for someone who’s passionate about design systems, understands CPG constraints, and loves building premium packaging that wins at shelf. What You’ll Do: - Packaging Updates & Maintenance - Update and refine existing packaging for consistency, accuracy, and brand alignment - Revise packaging copy, product claims, regulatory requirements, and nutrition panels as needed - Manage iterative packaging improvements based on feedback, testing, or new brand guidelines - New Flavor & Product Launches - Execute packaging for new flavor introductions and new product SKUs - Build dielines, front-of-pack visuals, icons, and flavor systems under Creative Director guidance - Ensure new designs maintain Instant Hydration’s minimal, premium aesthetic - Retail Partner & Special Count Rollouts - Design packaging variations for special count offerings (6ct, 12ct, 20ct+, etc.) - Create retailer-specific packaging versions (Target, Walmart, Amazon, Wholesale) - Adapt packaging to meet retailer-specific guidelines, compliance needs, and style requirements - Cross-Team Collaboration - Work closely with Ops, Product, Supply Chain, and Sales to ensure packaging accuracy - Coordinate with print vendors on production specs, mechanicals, and color accuracy - Maintain organized asset libraries, version control, and file delivery systems - Brand Creative Support - Support the Creative Director in expanding the packaging system across emerging categories - Contribute to concepting for new launches, merchandising, and on-shelf storytelling - Assist with mockups, prototypes, and retailer presentations as needed Qualifications - 3–5+ years of experience in packaging design, ideally in CPG, wellness, or beverage - Mastery of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign - Strong understanding of dielines, printing processes, and production workflows - Detail-obsessed, organized, and comfortable managing multiple SKUs and deadlines - A portfolio demonstrating clean design, strong typography, and system-level thinking - Must speak / understand English and have a strong understanding of metric system - Must be able to work core Company working hours (PST) Requirements - Experience with 3D packaging mockup tools (e.g., Dimension, Cinema 4D, Blender) - Knowledge of regulatory or compliance requirements for supplements or consumables - Experience designing for sustainability or eco-friendly packaging materials - Exposure to consumer research, retail testing, or packaging performance insights - Motion/animation skills for digital renders or presentations Benefits - We offer a strong salary, tailored to attract top talent from 2-3.5k USD/month - Join an early-stage, high-growth CPG team where your packaging work shows up on shelves fast - Help define and build the packaging system and brand presence from the ground up - High ownership and rapid iteration; your designs will reach customers from day one - Be a core member of a small, senior, ambitious team aligned on clarity, science-driven products, and premium design
Job Requirements
- Must-Have Requirements
- 3–5+ years of experience in packaging design, ideally in CPG, wellness, or beverage
- Mastery of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign
