Blue Matter is hiring for the Technology and Operations Practice within the Blue Matter Insights Team. Our Technology & Operations practice integrates strategy, data, and AI to deliver scalable, technology-enabled solutions for BioPharma Clients. The practice has developed a category-defining platform called Twine™— an AI-first customer intelligence platform purpose-built for life sciences that is already seeing strong traction in the market. The successful candidate will play a direct role in shaping, enhancing, and scaling Twine as a core capability within our portfolio. We are seeking an entrepreneurial Technology Manager / Associate Principal to develop our Technology & Operations practice with new clients, primarily on the East Coast. This leader will bridge strategy and technology, driving innovation and execution across data and AI programs that transform client operations. The role is both strategic and hands-on. You will oversee project delivery, build regional client relationships, mentor delivery teams, and provide technical leadership — while also contributing to the architecture and product evolution of Twine. Primary Responsibilities 1. Delivery & Team Leadership (40%) - Lead end-to-end delivery of complex technology engagements— including data engineering, AI/ML, and analytics — ensuring excellence across scope, timelines, and budget. - Serve as the technical and delivery owner for multi-disciplinary projects involving data engineering, AI, and analytics. - Build and mentor a high-performing East Coast technology team, coordinate delivery across onshore and offshore resources. - Provide hands-on leadership in solution design, architecture, modeling, and deployment. - Establish delivery governance, quality standards, and a culture of accountability, innovation, and technical excellence. 2. Client Engagement & Business Development (30%) - Serve as a strategic advisor to senior life sciences stakeholders, translating complex business problems into platform-enabled technology solutions. - Develop and expand East Coast client relationships, driving account growth, cross-sell of Twine-powered offerings, and new logo acquisition. - Drive the enhancement, scalability, and go-to-market of Twine, including product roadmap contributions, platform monetization strategy, and SaaS delivery readiness. - Lead proposal development, capability presentations, and account growth efforts. 3. Technology & Innovation (30%) - Architect and implement modern data warehouses, data lakes, and analytics platforms on AWS, Azure, or GCP using tools such as Databricks, Snowflake, and Spark. - Design and deploy AI-powered solutions including GenAI applications, LLM-based workflows RAG pipelines grounded in proprietary data with vector databases and agentic AI architecture for commercial and operational use cases. - Develop enterprise-grade APIs, data pipelines, and decision automation layers that integrate with Twine’s platform ecosystem. - Establish AI safety, governance, and observability practices for production AI systems. - Evaluate and integrate emerging AI frameworks and feed emerging capabilities into the ongoing Twine product roadmap. Qualifications - Master’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. - 12+ years of experience in technology consulting, life sciences analytics, or enterprise data architecture with proven track record leading and delivering large-scale data and AI initiatives in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP). - Demonstrated experience with AI/ML solution design, including LLMs, GenAI pipelines, RAG architectures with vector databases, agentic AI orchestration (CrewAI, AutoGen, LangGraph), and frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar. - Deep understanding of life sciences datasets (Sales, claims, CRM, marketing). - Executive presence with effective communication and client advisory skills. - Experience building or scaling technology-enabled platforms strongly preferred. - Prefer candidates on the East Coast or SF Bay Area Preferred Skills - Experience with governance and compliance frameworks (HIPAA, GDPR, GxP). - Prior experience in biopharma digital transformation, or omnichannel orchestration; active engagement with the AI community (open-source, publications, conferences). - Expertise in API architecture, MCP (Model Context Protocol), tool-use architecture, AI agent orchestration, or multi-agent system design. - Prior involvement in platform product development or GTM strategy. This leader will play a critical role in driving the next wave of ERP and finance transformation, leveraging AI enabled capabilities, automation, and data driven insights to reduce manual effort, improve cycle times, and elevate decision making. The Senior Engineering Manager will act as a digital change agent, shaping the future of how UKG procures, pays, and partners across its supplier ecosystem. This role is accountable for designing standardized P2P processes, governing enabling applications ( D365, Ariba/Concur, ServiceNow, Power Platform), and driving automation and touchless processing to improve working capital, compliance, and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities • Own the Procure to Pay applications roadmap and architecture, aligning with enterprise IT strategy and business objectives across Finance and Procurement. • Lead design, configuration oversight, and implementation of P2P capabilities within core ERP and surrounding applications (requisitions, approvals, POs, GR/IR, invoicing, payments, vendor master, T&E). • Govern and optimize the P2P application ecosystem, including core ERP (e.g., SAP S/4HANA, D365 Finance, or similar), procurement/T&E platforms (e.g., Ariba, Concur), workflow/case tools (e.g., ServiceNow), and integrations. • Manage application lifecycle activities: demand intake, requirements, solution design, build, testing, release management, and hypercare for P2P changes and projects. • Oversee day to day application support, incident and problem management, and SLA adherence for P2P and related finance applications. • Design and maintain robust integrations between ERP, banking, tax engines, OCR/scan solutions, supplier networks, and workflow platforms. • Implement and monitor application and process controls that support SOX, audit, and compliance requirements across purchasing, approvals, and vendor lifecycle. • Define and track application health and performance KPIs (system availability, incident volumes, cycle times, touchless rate) using logs, monitoring tools, and BI platforms. • Partner with business process owners to translate requirements into technical specifications, functional designs (PDDs/FDDs), and configuration standards. • Lead ERP and P2P related upgrades, enhancements, and global rollouts, including testing strategy, cutover planning, and change management. • Manage relationships with software vendors, implementation partners, and managed service providers, influencing roadmaps and ensuring value from contracts. • Build, lead, and mentor a team of functional analysts, application engineers, and support specialists across locations.
