What we're looking for: Nexamp is looking to grow their Labor Compliance team and seeking to hire a Compliance Manager. You will be responsible to oversee prevailing wage and apprenticeship compliance across Nexamp's clean energy construction portfolio. This role leads a team of Compliance Analysts and is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and defensible compliance oversight aligned with federal, state, and project-specific labor standards, including Davis-Bacon and Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) Prevailing Wage & Apprenticeship (PWA) requirements. You will be hybrid out of the Washington, DC office. You will report to the Director, Compliance. . What you'll do: - Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of 5-10 Compliance Analysts. - Provide coaching to ensure consistent application of regulatory standards and enforcement practices. - Oversee certified payroll review processes to ensure accuracy, consistency, and defensibility. - Ensure proper monitoring of apprenticeship utilization, ratio compliance, and prevailing wage determinations. - Implement quality control procedures to reduce errors and strengthen compliance documentation. - Oversee subcontractor engagement on complex or escalated compliance matters. - Exercise professional authority in high-risk or disputed compliance determinations. - Ensure timely resolution of underpayments, restitution, and corrective actions. - Escalate material risks to the Director with clear recommendations and impact analysis. - Oversee investigations into alleged prevailing wage, fringe benefit, and apprenticeship violations. - Validate audit methodologies and ensure documentation is complete and defensible. - Identify systemic compliance risks and recommend control enhancements. - Monitor federal and state labor law updates and assess impact on company practices. - Lead implementation of regulatory changes into internal controls, processes, and training materials. - Prepare monthly compliance reports summarizing trends, findings, financial exposure, and remediation status. - Translate technical compliance risks into clear business impact summaries for leadership. What you'll bring: - 4+ years of experience in compliance and regulatory auditing. - Previous experience engaging and inspiring teams to excel while focusing on the growth and well-being of team members. - Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university, preferably in Accounting, Law or Legal Studies, Business Administration, Public Administration or a related field. - Demonstrated ability to lead compliance reviews, make defensible regulatory determinations, and oversee resolution of complex compliance matters. - Experience supervising audits and investigations, reviewing underpayment calculations, and ensuring defensible documentation standards. - Advanced ability to analyze large payroll datasets, identify patterns of risk, and maintain structured compliance tracking systems - Ability to use standard computer programs, including Microsoft Office Suite and particularly Excel - Experience in prevailing wage enforcement preferred. - Experience in renewable energy, construction compliance, or federally funded projects preferred. - Experience with certified payroll platforms preferred. - Commitment to Nexamp's mission and have a passion for solving tomorrow's climate crisis today. - Demonstrated experience in effectively communicating information, ideas, and perspectives with people inside and beyond your organization. - Experience in showcasing initiative to make improvements to current work, processes, products, and services across the organization. Compensation The reasonably estimated salary for this role at Nexamp ranges from $122,000 - $147,000. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual bonus programs based on individual and company performance, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans). Additionally, you may be eligible to participate in the Company's stock option plan. Actual base salary may vary based upon, but is not limited to, skills and qualifications, internal equity, performance, and geographic location.
