Legal Subject Matter Expert

• Collaborate with DDE team members, product team, and data science team to plan AI review projects, including drafting initial prompt sets and ensuring sufficient time for review phases. • Conduct detailed reviews of AI tool outputs, rate responses, and provide detailed feedback to the data science team for incremental improvements. • Supervise and review the work of junior colleagues, including DDE I experts. • Establish SME testing plans and ensure sufficient SME resources are in place. • Provide annotation, evaluation, and feedback to data scientists, data engineers, and product managers. • Execute best practices in creating and maintaining training data and relevance evaluations. • Communicate actionable feedback and provide customer-focused insights.

Job Requirements

  • Have a Law degree with experience (minimum 3 years) in an Australian legal practice role
  • Be competent in advanced legal research and writing
  • Have moderate professional experience in managing, coaching, and mentoring others
  • Be a natural problem solver

Position Summary LOCATION: Investigative Counsel – Intake work from our office in Madison. After a probationary period, Investigative Counsel may be eligible for partial remote work. SALARY: Starting salary for an Investigative Counsel - Intake is $75,961- $81,265 annually with a State of Wisconsin benefits package. Starting salary will be determined based on the selected candidate’s qualifications and Job Details • Manage a high volume of matters from assignment through recommended disposition with minimal oversight. • Devise and pursue evidence-gathering strategies, including written requests and oral communications with a variety of people. • Make complex legal decisions in a fast-paced environment. • Prepare written documents and oral presentations concerning allegations, evidence, matter disposition, and sanction. • Conduct legal research and analysis related to underlying legal matters and application of the Rules of Professional Conduct.
