Director of Software Engineering, Core Lending
LoanPro
• Responsible for leading engineering teams that design, build, and scale the core Loan management and servicing platform. • Define strategy, priorities, and execution plans for engineering teams working on the Loans product line. • Partner with the Product to set roadmaps, balance innovation with stability, and ensure product-market fit. • Hire, mentor, and grow engineering managers, technical leads and senior engineers. • Ensure Loans & core lending platforms are scalable, resilient, and extensible for future growth. • Define and track KPIs (system reliability, velocity, customer satisfaction, compliance adherence). • Drive initiatives to improve engineering processes, CI/CD pipelines, developer productivity, and overall team effectiveness.
Job Requirements
- Proven experience leading multiple engineering teams and engineering managers.
- Strong ability to influence stakeholders across product, engineering, and business.
- Experience with scaling engineering organizations in a SaaS or fintech environment.
- Excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills.
- Deep understanding of lending systems (Loans lifecycle, servicing, payments, amortization schedules, compliance requirements, etc.).
- Background in software engineering with modern cloud-based architectures (AWS, microservices, event-driven systems, etc.).
- Strong foundation in software engineering with hands-on experience building cloud-native, event-driven, and distributed systems at scale.
- Knowledge of data modeling, transactional systems, and regulatory/security concerns in financial platforms.
- Track record of driving large-scale product initiatives from concept to production.
- Experience with risk and compliance in financial services (preferably lending/credit).
- Ability to define and deliver on OKRs for engineering organizations.
