Engineering Manager – Data & Infrastructure
GoodShip
• Manage a hybrid team spanning software and data work. • Prioritize and align engineering projects and data requests across teams. • Build lightweight processes for visibility, accountability, and continuous improvement. • Strengthen data reliability and integrity to reinforce customer trust. • Own the GoodShip data pipeline, infrastructure and CI/CD pipeline, from an operational and strategic perspective. • Collaborate with other managers to shape engineering culture and standards.
Job Requirements
- Has managed teams combining software engineers and data specialists (e.g., analytics, BI, or data platform).
- Is comfortable in both infrastructure and data domains — IaC, pipelines, observability, SQL, and data quality.
- Brings clarity and structure, turning ambiguous work into measurable outcomes.
- Focuses on operational leverage — scaling impact through tooling and automation.
- Uses metrics to drive performance and reliability, not just reporting.
- Communicates effectively across engineering, product, and customer teams.
