Job Description

Generator Field Service Technician – Preventative Maintenance, Commercial, Electrical Controls, Mechanical, Microgrid

PowerSecure, Inc.

• Responsible for ongoing maintenance and repair of contracted and non-contracted generator and power distribution equipment • Technical support to customers on operational or maintenance aspects • Provide 24x7 “on-call” services as required • Maintain and safeguard company issued equipment, tools, and instruments • Perform required preventative maintenance service to equipment under contract as scheduled • Customer contact and interface • Communicate availability status to corporate office • Ensure that work is performed to PSS standards • Complete all paperwork, including Field Service Reports, Time Sheets, Expense Reports, and other job required reports timely and accurately • Provide technical support to customers upon request

Job Requirements

  • Minimum Qualifications Level II Technician requires three years of field experience servicing generator systems
  • Experience on 500kw+
  • Proficient with preventative maintenance, retrofitting basic controls
  • Minor ATS repairs and loadbanking equipment
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Related military experience or equivalent field experience
  • Ability to perform triennial maintenance, engine diagnostics, fuel system priming and replacing failed engine components
  • Operational and functional understanding of Automatic Transfer Systems
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair with minimal direction
  • Experience with advanced generator and electric system controls including Woodward, Beckwith, and PLC equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret technical instructions, safety manuals, service manuals and policies and procedures
  • Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts
  • Must observe all safety standards
