Job Type: Full-Time (30-40 hours per week) Location: Remote or on-site in San Jose (flexible) We are looking for a Full-Time Middle School Math Teacher starting in Summer 2026. Teachers are expected to understand middle school math concepts, prepare classes based on Think Academy's curriculum, deliver engaging, age-appropriate math lessons, explain concepts and demonstrate problem-solving techniques, and use various teaching methods to meet students' diverse needs. Job Responsibilities: - Teach middle school math courses (Pre-Algebra to Algebra 2, AMC8/10) to entry and competition level middle school students - Actively engage and manage a classroom of up to 18 students virtually through the Think Academy Teaching Platform - Prepare and deliver lessons using Think Academy’s provided curriculum and teaching guidance - Grade homework and provide other essential learning-related support - Communicate effectively with students and parents, offering timely and personalized feedback - Typically work 30–40 hours per week, primarily during weekday afternoons and weekends How You Can Be Qualified: - Bachelor’s degree (or currently pursuing) with a strong math foundation; all majors are welcome - Prior math teaching experience is not required, but is a plus - Math competition (learning or teaching) experience is a plus - Available for training in April or May and able to start teaching in early June - Available and willing to work during weekday evenings and weekends - Super passionate about teaching and the education industry, with a strong sense of responsibility and love to work and connect with kids - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Pay Structure and Benefits: This role offers consistent teaching opportunities throughout the year, with approximately 43 teaching weeks for continuing teachers. - Competitive Pay: - Teaching Hours: $30–35/hr (4–6 classes per week, each class is 2 hours) - Administrative Hours (lesson prep, grading, parent communication): $16–$20/hr - Performance-Based Pay Increase: - Up to 15% bonus per term - Two opportunities per year for teaching rate increases (up to $5/hr increase based on performance) - Professional Growth: - Leverage Think Academy's paid, 2-week Teacher Training Program to develop your career in education! - High-performing teachers may be promoted to management roles with additional responsibilities and compensation. - Flexible Work Options: - On-site or remote, based on preference and availability - Benefits: - 401k and Health, Vision, and Dental Insurance (depending on eligibility) - Work visa sponsorship may be considered for long-term, high-performing teachers.
