About the role:We are seeking an exceptional Senior Software Engineer to join our Engineering team. Garner’s Engineering team tackles incredibly hard technical problems for a mission that truly matters. Our systems analyze billions of medical records to rank healthcare providers across the country. We are an AWS + Kubernetes shop, and we are constantly introducing new technologies as our system load doubles every year. Where you will work:Garner is headquartered in NYC, but this position is available for individuals who are comfortable with remote work and occasional travel to HQ What you will do: - Lead technical strategy and decision-making on assigned domains - Use AI to build, optimize, and maintain software systems - Mentor and uplevel early-career engineers - Collaborate across disciplines to understand our domain and iterate on projects - Protect our users’ privacy and security through best practices The ideal candidate has: - 4+ years of software engineering experience - A generalist software engineering mindset ready to learn new languages, frameworks, and techniques required for a fast paced startup environment - Demonstrated ability to build complex systems using AI coding agents (we use Claude Code) - The ability to learn quickly and mentor others - Familiarity with data security and HIPAA compliance - A desire to be a part of a high-performing, mission-driven team that operates with intense urgency, a strong sense of individual accountability, and a commitment to authentic feedback Technologies we use: - Claude Code, Kubernetes, AWS, Airflow, dlt, dbt, Python, TypeScript, React, Go Compensation Transparency:The target salary range for this position is $175,000 - $215,000. Individual compensation for this role will depend on various factors, including qualifications, skills, and applicable laws. • Support development and enhancement of capabilities within the Moveworks enterprise AI assistant platform • Assist in building integrations between the AI assistant and enterprise systems such as HR, IT service management, and internal knowledge platforms • Contribute to automation workflows that enable employees to complete tasks through conversational AI • Support development and testing of AI-driven features, APIs, and backend services • Assist with debugging, testing, and improving chatbot responses and workflows • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including AI engineers, platform engineers, and product teams • Document development work, test results, and improvements to support continuous enhancement of the platform

• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert on radiation effects • Collaborate with Amentum leadership and Government customers to advise on policy development • Bridge technical depth with strategic program goals • Guide architectural decisions and mentor staff • Solve complex, high-risk problems • Steer technical vision and improve engineering processes • Align projects with long-term objectives across multiple programs • Resolve high-stakes issues and program bottlenecks • Perform risk assessments and foster collaboration among stakeholders • Refine program requirements

• Define and drive the technical strategy and architecture for our CI/CD platform, release management systems, and code quality platform. • Design and build tooling, frameworks, and automation that help engineering teams maintain and improve code quality across the organization. • Lead high-impact initiatives that improve automation, observability, and self-service capabilities for engineers across the organization. • Mentor and level up other engineers on the team, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement. • Collaborate across teams and with engineering leadership to identify systemic challenges in our delivery and quality processes and architect solutions to address them. • Evolve our release architecture to support dbt Cloud's multi-cloud, cell-based infrastructure at scale. • Establish best practices and standards for build pipelines, release workflows, code quality, and infrastructure-as-code that are adopted across engineering. • Serve as a thought leader in engineering's internal AI strategy — evaluating AI-assisted development tools, defining adoption practices and guardrails, and enabling developers to use AI effectively across the org.
