Job Description

Principal Engineer, Radiation Hardened Systems

Amentum

• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert on radiation effects • Collaborate with Amentum leadership and Government customers to advise on policy development • Bridge technical depth with strategic program goals • Guide architectural decisions and mentor staff • Solve complex, high-risk problems • Steer technical vision and improve engineering processes • Align projects with long-term objectives across multiple programs • Resolve high-stakes issues and program bottlenecks • Perform risk assessments and foster collaboration among stakeholders • Refine program requirements

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and at least twenty (20) years of job-related experience
  • Expertise in materials and device radiation interactions
  • Extensive experience in radiation testing, requirements development, and results analysis
  • Strategic planning expertise across multiple programs and organizations
  • Experience developing technical white papers and proposals
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively with a variety of team members
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret Clearance.
