Job Description

Senior Mobile Engineer

Homebound

• Own and grow Homebound’s iOS applications used daily by construction field teams. • Lead technical design and implementation of complex mobile features, including offline-first workflows and data synchronization. • Translate messy, real-world field processes into intuitive, consumer-grade mobile experiences. • Partner closely with Product, Design, Construction Ops, and Platform Engineering to define requirements and technical tradeoffs. • Influence mobile architecture, data models, and API contracts to support long-term scalability. • Ship high-quality production code frequently, with a strong focus on reliability, maintainability, and user impact. • Mentor other engineers and help raise the bar for mobile engineering practices and developer experience.

Job Requirements

  • 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, with 5+ years building and shipping mobile applications.
  • Strong experience with native iOS development (Swift / SwiftUI).
  • Proven ability to lead projects end-to-end, making sound technical and product tradeoffs.
  • Deep understanding of mobile UI/UX best practices and performance considerations.
  • Experience building offline-first applications and managing local data, syncing, and conflict resolution.
  • Experience shipping AI-powered or intelligent product features (e.g., LLM-driven workflows, automation, ML-backed features).
  • Strong sense of ownership and comfort operating in a fast-moving startup environment.
  • Experience working with GraphQL backends is a plus.
  • Passion for improving the developer experience and the quality of mobile delivery.
