Job Description

Solutions Consultant

Bitfocus

About Bitfocus At Bitfocus, our mission is simple but ambitious: help end homelessness. We do that by building and supporting Clarity Human Services — the technology that powers communities across the country in their work to connect people experiencing homelessness with the resources they need. We're a team that leads with care, innovates with insider knowledge, and believes deeply in the power of community — because those aren't just values on a wall, they're the foundation of the work we do every day. We take pride in what we build, support one another through the hard problems, and embrace smart risks in service of meaningful impact. If you're someone who wants their work to matter — and wants to grow alongside a team that's genuinely committed to getting this right — we'd love to have you. We know strong candidates don't always look the same on paper. If you're excited about this role and believe you have what it takes, we'd love to hear from you — we're building a team that reflects the communities we serve About the role We are looking for a motivated, sales-minded Solutions Consultant to join our Business Development team. In this role, you'll be the first impression many communities have of Bitfocus — introducing them to Clarity Human Services, guiding them through the sales process, and helping them see how data and technology can make a real difference in addressing homelessness. This role sits on a defined career track with clear room to grow — whether that means deepening your expertise, expanding your impact, or taking on greater ownership of how we approach the market. We're looking for someone who brings a consultative presence and genuine passion for the mission, with the experience to contribute meaningfully from day one. About the Business Development team The Business Development team's mission is to promote a data-driven, decision-making culture to solve homelessness. We serve as the primary point of contact for communities that want to use technology to make meaningful progress on pressing social challenges. In practical terms, that means attracting, retaining, and growing customer relationships through marketing, sales, and business development strategy. Our team works across: - Software demonstrations and sales presentations - RFP and proposal development - Prospecting and new partnership development - Industry and market research - HMIS and HUD policy expertise - Marketing and brand engagement As a Solutions Consultant, you will - Deliver software demonstrations: Present tailored, compelling demonstrations and webinars of Clarity Human Services — showcasing advanced features, addressing complex client scenarios, and communicating the platform's unique value to diverse audiences. - Develop proposals and RFP responses: Lead the development of well-structured, persuasive proposals and RFP responses, translating technical functionality into clear value propositions aligned with client needs. - Drive prospecting and partnerships: Proactively pursue leads and new opportunities, creating urgency and momentum while building long-term relationships with customers and colleagues. - Apply HMIS and industry expertise: Serve as a subject matter expert on HMIS and HUD policies, leading meaningful discussions on homelessness-related challenges and ensuring solutions align with federal and local data requirements. - Conduct market research: Identify key industry trends, challenges, and opportunities — using those insights to engage prospects and build excitement for Bitfocus solutions. - Support marketing and operations: Assist with marketing materials, brand engagement, and the contracting process for new customers. You'll know you're succeeding when - You're confidently leading software demonstrations that leave prospects genuinely excited about what Clarity can do for their community. - Your proposals and RFP responses are clear, compelling, and consistently reflect the client's language and priorities back to them. - You're moving deals forward with momentum — prospects feel supported, not pressured. - You can speak fluently about HMIS, HUD policy, and homelessness data in a way that builds trust with community partners. - You've built relationships with customers that go beyond the sale — they see you as a trusted advisor, not just a vendor. - You're proactively bringing market insights back to the team that sharpen how we approach new opportunities. What you bring - Sales drive: A proactive, deal-making mindset with prior experience in software or SaaS sales and the ability to independently pursue and close new business opportunities while maintaining a collaborative, consultative approach - Exceptional writing skills: Proven ability to write clear, compelling content — proposals, RFP responses, technical writing, and other materials — that speaks directly to the audience's needs. - Presentation and public speaking: Confidence and skill in delivering information to diverse audiences — from community leaders to technical administrators — in an engaging and credible way. - Communication: Strong written and verbal skills, a persuasive presence, and the ability to analyze complex problems and provide effective recommendations. - Technical fluency: Comfort with software and data management concepts, with the ability to discuss database and data analysis topics at an intermediate level. - Organization: Highly organized, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines across multiple workstreams. Nice to have While none of these are required, candidates with any of the following will stand out: - Familiarity with HMIS, HUD policies, or the homeless services Continuum of Care. - Experience with HubSpot, Monday.com, or similar CRM and project management tools. - Background in English, communications, journalism, human services, public policy, or marketing. - Familiarity with federal and state governmental structure and policy. - Experience developing or responding to RFPs. Why Bitfocus Our benefits are designed to support you in all aspects of your health and well-being — social, physical, emotional, and financial. - Exceptional culture and mission-driven work - Comprehensive healthcare (100% employer-paid for employees) - 12 weeks paid parental leave - R&R Week (paid week off at year-end) - Three weeks paid vacation + two volunteer days per year - 401K retirement plan (4% match) - Flexible work hours and remote-first culture - Career growth plans for each role Compensation We are committed to transparent, equitable compensation that reflects both where you start and where you can go. Our compensation bands are designed to support growth within a role over time and are reviewed annually to stay competitive. This role has an annual targeted total compensation range of $49,000–$95,000, including variable compensation (bonus) eligibility. This range reflects the targeted compensation at this level, with senior-level roles carrying a separate, higher band. This position is also eligible for a competitive variable compensation (commission) plan, bringing the On-Target Earnings (OTE) potential to a range of $59,000 to $120,000. Most candidates join at the lower to mid range, leaving room to grow as expertise develops. We negotiate final compensation with you based on your experience, skills, and qualifications. Compensation for this role is not location-based. Remote work This is a fully remote, full-time position. To ensure a productive and secure work environment, the following setup is required before your first day: - Workspace: A private, quiet, and dedicated space free from distractions and background noise - Internet: A high-speed, reliable wired connection (Cable, DSL, or Fiber Optic) meeting minimum standards: 50 Mbps download / 20 Mbps upload / 50 ms latency or less (you can run a speed test here) Equal opportunity Qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, veteran status, or disability.
