Here’s what we are looking for with this role: Essential Requirements - Design and implement storage architectures that meet the needs of a large-scale, cloud-based infrastructure, utilizing expertise in storage technologies such as block, file, and object storage as well as modern data protection solutions - Develop and lead the implementation of automation frameworks to streamline storage provisioning, management, and monitoring, using tools such as Ansible and Terraform - Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior team members, mentoring and coaching to help them develop their skills and expertise - Design and implement service abstraction layers to expose multiple classes of storage service, enabling the organization to offer a range of storage options to customers, including high-performance, low-latency, and cost-optimized storage - Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, SRE, operations, customers, and product management, to ensure alignment and effective implementation of storage architectures - Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in the storage industry, applying this knowledge to continuously improve and optimize our storage infrastructure - At least 20 years of experience in storage architecture, design, and implementation, with a focus on large-scale, cloud-based infrastructures at fortune 100 companies - Deep expertise in designing and implementing automation frameworks, including experience with tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or CloudFormation - Direct experiences in developing service and automation abstraction layers to expose multiple classes of service, including experience with APIs, SDKs, and other programming interfaces - In-depth knowledge of storage technologies, including block, file, and object storage, as well as experience with storage protocols such as NFS 3/4, SMB, iSCSI, FC, NVMeOF - Experience with cloud-based storage services, including Amazon S3, Azure Blob Storage, or Google Cloud Storage - Strong understanding of storage performance, scalability, and reliability, including experience with benchmarking, testing, and optimization - Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders Desirable Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics or a related field - Master's degree or Ph.D. in a related field preferred - Experience working in a top 10 IaaS provider, such as Amazon, Microsoft, or Google, or a large financial institution - Strong understanding of cloud-based infrastructure, including experience with cloud management platforms, such as OpenStack or CloudStack - Experience with containerization technologies, such as Docker, and orchestration tools, such as Kubernetes and what storage best practices are in these areas. - Familiarity with agile development methodologies, including experience with Scrum or Kanban - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex storage issues and optimize storage performance Compensation Dell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. Job Requirements
- At least 20 years of experience in storage architecture, design, and implementation, with a focus on large-scale, cloud-based infrastructures at fortune 100 companies.
