Director, Cloud & Data Solution Architecture – Azure, Microsoft Fabric

• Define and evolve Solvd’s Microsoft cloud and data architecture vision, reference models, and reusable patterns • Shape go-to-market offerings for Microsoft Fabric and Azure data platform modernization (lakehouse, warehousing, analytics, governance) • Stay current with platform evolution and incorporate it into internal standards and solution design (Fabric, OneLake, Data Factory, Power BI, and related capabilities) • Build and lead a global team of senior Azure and Microsoft Fabric solution architects • Establish architectural governance, design standards, review processes, and reusable solution blueprints • Ensure solutions align with the Azure Well-Architected Framework and Cloud Adoption Framework principles • Partner across cloud, data, security, and DevOps practices to ensure consistency and delivery excellence • Partner with Sales/BD and delivery leadership on solutioning, POCs, RFP responses, and architecture reviews for strategic deals • Present architectures and modernization roadmaps to technical and executive audiences, influencing customer decision-making • Define technical strategy, TCO, risks, delivery approach, and phased transformation plans for proposals • Provide oversight and mentorship for delivery engagements involving Azure + Fabric data platforms (ingestion, transformation, storage, analytics, visualization) • Review or lead architecture designs that incorporate Fabric lakehouses/warehouses, pipelines, governance, and analytics patterns • Ensure architectural quality across performance, security, automation, cost optimization, reliability, and SRE-aligned practices • Build team capability models and career paths within the Microsoft architecture practice • Drive knowledge sharing, internal training, and certification attainment (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Data Engineer/Architect, Fabric credentials) • Mentor architects and senior engineers, raising the bar for technical leadership and client advisory
Job Requirements
- 12+ years of experience in cloud and data architecture, including 6+ years in the Microsoft Azure ecosystem
- Deep knowledge of Azure services and design patterns (compute, networking, IAM, security, data services)
- Hands-on architectural experience with Microsoft Fabric, OneLake, lakehouse/warehouse patterns, Data Factory (or equivalent), and Power BI analytics patterns
- Proven experience leading or scaling a solution architecture domain or practice
- Strong understanding of data platform architecture patterns, ELT/ETL integration, governance, and modeling
- Demonstrated experience in pre-sales technical leadership, architecture reviews, and client advisory
- Excellent communication skills across C-suite, technical teams, and cross-functional stakeholders.
