OVERVIEW OF POSITION / DEPARTMENT The Water Service Locate team identifies and marks City of Aurora’s infrastructure with accuracy of locate request in accordance with tier 1 requirements and state law. Aurora Water is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the drinking water, sanitary sewer and storm drainage systems, treatment of drinking water and non-potable reclaimed wastewater for irrigation, billing and collection, public outreach and water conservation, acquisition and development of future water rights, major capital projects programs, and quality control for regulatory compliance and public health. PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES - Use mobile tablet to receive, document and close out excavation notices, both during normal hours and after hours. - Read and interpret utility maps/prints to identify the type and size of underground utilities. - Effectively communicate with excavators, utility reps, and company personnel, regarding underground facilities. - Operate different electronic detection equipment to locate and mark underground facilities within prescribed accuracy limits. - Provide accurate documentation and/or sketches related to all locates completed. - Receive and respond to excavation notices during normal and after hours in accordance with established time requirements. - Operate company vehicle in a safe manner and maintain professional appearance. - Perform work in all weather conditions, during normal and after hours. - Employee responsible for city owned vehicle/equipment during and after normal work hours. - Performs other related duties as assigned. This role will report to the Director Field Service and will be remote and based in New Mexico. This manager will provide oversight and coordination for the company in New Mexico and El Paso, Texas, including planning and implementation of service activities. This manager acts as a bridge to corporate HQ by reporting on reliability and maintenance operations.
