Marketing Automation Consultant

• Develop a strong understanding of each client’s marketing goals, including the unique needs of Destination Marketing Organizations (DMOs), and partner with them to define clear marketing automation objectives and KPIs • Present performance insights, strategic recommendations, and campaign results to guide ongoing client success and platform adoption • Manage the full onboarding process for new clients by configuring our preferred or integrated marketing automation platform , establishing key settings, and ensuring a smooth transition into active use • Deliver comprehensive training on core and advanced features on our preferred or integrated marketing automation platform including segmentation, email creation and testing, scoring, forms, landing pages, A/B testing, automated programs, and performance reporting • Maintain high data quality standards through accurate list imports, segmentation updates, and adherence to data hygiene practices • Build email templates aligned to client requirements and troubleshoot issues related to HTML, deliverability, segmentation, and other aspects of platform functionality • Execute email marketing campaigns and automated workflows using digital marketing best practices and audience-focused strategies • Utilize strong knowledge of CRM-to–marketing automation integrations and understand how Destination Marketing Organization (DMO) clients leverage CRM data within their marketing programs • Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to HTML, segmentation, deliverability, and overall system performance while meeting departmental SLAs to ensure reliable and timely client support
Job Requirements
- 1+ years of hands-on experience in marketing automation and/or email marketing, preferably in a software/tech or agency environment working with Destination Marketing Organizations (DMOs) or at a DMO
- Proficiency with marketing automation platforms (Act-On preferred) and familiarity with CRM systems
- Strong understanding of database concepts, list management, segmentation, and foundational HTML/CSS
- Experience delivering client training and translating complex technical concepts into practical guidance
- Demonstrated analytical, problem solving, and project management skills with high attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience in client-facing roles
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 product family and familiarity with analytics and testing tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Litmus)
- Ability to work independently on multiple tasks with minimal direction while collaborating effectively within a team; agency or consulting experience is a plus
- Strong travel and tourism industry knowledge
