As we continue our growth trajectory, we seek an energetic EM Application Engineer to be the face of Tidy3D, helping our EM simulation and design products dominate both academic and industry markets. Role Overview As an Application Engineer, you’ll play a critical role in spreading the word about Tidy3D, driving its adoption in academic and industry settings in the US as well as worldwide. You’ll be an advocate, educator, and connector, building strong relationships with researchers, professors, industry professionals, and students while showcasing the transformative capabilities of Tidy3D. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on engaging with people, loves public speaking, and is excited to travel to conferences, universities, and companies to make a meaningful impact. Technical background in electromagnetics and numerical simulation is also required. Key Responsibilities - Represent Tidy3D at academic conferences, industry events, seminars, and workshops, presenting our cutting-edge tools to the photonics and engineering communities. - Provide in-deepth technical support to customers. - Organize and deliver engaging talks, tutorials, and training sessions at universities, research institutions, and companies. - Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, including professors, students, researchers, and industry leaders. - Collaborate with the marketing and sales teams to identify outreach opportunities and align efforts. - Gather feedback from the community to inform product development and improve the user experience. - Act as a bridge between Tidy3D and its user base, advocating for the needs of researchers and engineers. Job Requirements
- A degree in physics, optical/photonic engineering, or a related technical field.
- Good understanding of photonics and computational simulation tools.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage technical and non-technical audiences.
- High energy, enthusiasm, and a passion for teaching and advocacy.
- Willingness to travel frequently to conferences, universities, companies, and other events.
- Experience in an outreach, teaching, or sales role is a plus.
- Experience in using Tidy3D and other Flexcompute products is highly prefered.

• Responsible for Application Engineering activities for Conveyor Products. • Implement the segment's strategy while maintaining balance between strategic initiatives and operational tasks. • Provide on-site support and troubleshooting applications for our main customer in Arizona. • Initiate and supervise implementation of related Application Engineering activities (Customer projects, technical changes, quality improvements) • Conduct field inspections, root cause analysis, and troubleshooting for Conveyor Products • Safeguard committed standards of quality guidelines (internal and external), quality awareness, customer quality targets and observes customer care commitments • Segment strategy development and execution with their area of responsibility including deployment to and through their teams. • Analyze the market and technology and provide input to business strategies • Align with Product Development and Product Management of requirements and needs for the region • Attend strategic meetings with customers, conferences etc. to provide technical input or present the best engineered solution as possible • Select and suggest best suited product specification for the application
