In this role, you will play a critical part in driving the values on which our company was founded. This position will test you and push your critical thinking, creativity, and communication skills to help us solve complex problems. We’re looking for counsel who can integrate well with our claims culture. Our perfect candidate: - Understands the auto claims world - Is financially savvy - Articulates both sides of an issue with clarity - Digests complex information quickly and accurately - Is comfortable making decisions This role is vital to our claims team’s success. You will report to a Managing Attorney who reports to the Chief Claims Officer. Root is a “work where it works best” company, meaning we will support you working in whatever location that works best for you across the US. We will continue to have our headquarters in Columbus. Salary Range: $130,000 - $152,000 (STI & LTI Eligible) Qualifications - Juris Doctor with an active license to practice law - 5+ years of relevant experience - First-chair (jury trial) insurance defense litigation experience - Technical understanding of property/casualty insurance principles - Strong written and oral communication - Possessed of intellectual curiosity and critical thinking skills - Comfort with risk analysis, flexibility, and concise decision making - Ability to build collaborative working relationships in a smart and dynamic environment focused on getting things done Requirements - As part of Root's interview process, we kindly ask that all candidates be on camera for virtual interviews. Job Requirements
- Juris Doctor with an active license to practice law
- 5+ years of relevant experience
