Patient Account Representative I
The University of Kansas Health System
• Responsible for functions within assigned Patient Financial Services (PFS) department. • Accurate and timely action on accounts as it relates to specific responsibilities. • Complies with governmental and managed care rules and regulations. • Review related charges and direct charges to the proper payer source. • Apply billing rules to research charges billable to third-party health insurance payers. • Invoices billable services and assists Study teams with understanding invoices. • Follows up on outstanding study-related billing and balances. • Receives and resolves patient billing questions and complaints. • Works closely with collection agencies to assure updated information.
Job Requirements
- High School Graduate
- 1 or more years of experience in customer service, claims processing, corrections, or billing.
- Associates Degree in a related field of study from an accredited college or university preferred.
- 1 or more years of experience in Epic preferred.
