Tracking tasks using tools including ServiceNow.   - Candidate needs to be proficient in using tools and methods such as: advanced protocol analysis, system log review, event correlation, network management/performance tools, and dataflow mapping to diagnose and resolve network problems/incidents.  - Communicates with the customer/user base regarding network issues/problems/solutions and leads/participates in numerous network engineering/customer/user teleconferences.    Telecommunications  - Candidate should understand supporting the order and delivery process for WAN circuits.   - Provides support for circuit incident management through close coordination with Verizon and other vendors as required.    - Experience in configuring and supporting wireless WAN technologies for remote sites is a plus.     Process & Documentation  - Directly contributes to organizational objectives to meet SLA’s.  - Develops documentation of processes related to supporting the IHS agency including new service designs and topologies.

Job Requirements

  • Able to obtain a US Government Public Trust Clearance
  • CCNP required with a minimum of 4 years’ experience plus additional industry-related certifications.
  • Palo Alto experience is also required, supporting an enterprise network.
  • Experience with WAN circuit delivery, monitoring and maintenance.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience working within an enterprise network infrastructure consisting of multiple data centers and supporting large enterprise network LAN & WAN operations.

Team Overview This team plays a critical role in advancing Intersect’s mission to accelerate the renewable energy transition by designing, building, and optimizing high-performing clean energy assets at scale. The Engineering team partners cross-functionally with Development, Construction, Asset Management, and Operations to deliver projects that are technically sound, secure, and built for long-term reliability. What You’ll Do Design and Own SCADA Network Architecture • Develop and standardize secure, scalable SCADA network architectures for utility-scale facilities operating within ERCOT • Define industrial networking strategies including routing, switching, VLAN segmentation, fiber topology, and firewall design • Establish documentation and configuration control standards to support fleet-wide consistency and long-term maintainability Strengthen Cybersecurity & Compliance • Implement and maintain SCADA cybersecurity controls aligned with NERC CIP and company standards • Configure firewalls, ACLs, and VPN/IPsec tunnels to protect critical infrastructure communications • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliant telemetry, ISO communications, and secure data acquisition systems Lead System Integration & Commissioning • Oversee FAT, SAT, commissioning, and field support activities for complex telemetry and control systems • Integrate inverters, BESS, meters, protective relays, PPCs, RTACs, and ERCOT interfaces into cohesive, high-performing systems • Coordinate with EPCs, vendors, and owner platforms to ensure seamless telemetry and control functionality Troubleshoot & Optimize Plant Communications • Diagnose and resolve complex industrial communications and control system issues under time-sensitive conditions • Support ERCOT nodal protocol implementation and telemetry requirements • Contribute to long-term improvements in plant networking standards and operational reliability across the fleet What You’ll Bring • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field with emphasis in power systems, networking, or industrial controls • 5+ years of SCADA networking and telecommunications experience in utility-scale energy projects • Direct experience supporting SCADA networking and communications infrastructure for large-scale solar, wind, or BESS facilities • Demonstrated experience supporting ERCOT telemetry and control integration • Strong working knowledge of NERC CIP cybersecurity requirements and compliance practices • Expertise in SCADA system architecture design, industrial networking (routing, switching, VLANs, fiber), firewall configuration, and VPN/IPsec management • Experience leading FAT, SAT, commissioning, and on-site troubleshooting for complex industrial control systems • Deep understanding of utility-scale plant operations, grid interconnection requirements, protection systems, and ISO telemetry standards within ERCOT • Established relationships with SCADA vendors, EPCs, inverter manufacturers, BESS integrators, and telecommunications providers • A structured, detail-oriented work style that supports standardized solutions in fast-paced construction and commissioning environments • A calm, solutions-oriented mindset when addressing high-impact system issues • A commitment to technical excellence, documentation discipline, secure system design, and collaborative partnership aligned with Intersect’s core values Total Rewards At Intersect, we care about your well-being, growth, and balance.
