This individual will help ensure reliable connectivity across industrial, enterprise, and consumer environments while supporting large-scale deployments. The IoT Network Architect will also help develop Hyper’s recommended network architecture solutions and work directly with customers to tailor and modify those solutions to meet their operational and security requirements. Core Responsibilities - Design end-to-end IoT network architectures that enable secure and reliable connectivity between IoT devices, gateways, edge systems, and cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure. - Define and implement connectivity strategies by selecting appropriate communication protocols such as MQTT, CoAP, LoRaWAN, 5G, Zigbee, or Thread based on power, range, and bandwidth requirements. - Design and implement network security architectures including segmentation, device authentication using X.509 certificates, encryption standards such as TLS 1.2+, and secure device onboarding. - Integrate edge computing resources to support real-time data processing closer to the source, reducing latency and bandwidth consumption. - Monitor and analyze network traffic to optimize performance, reduce latency, and resolve connectivity bottlenecks. - Plan and design network infrastructure capable of supporting large-scale IoT deployments with thousands to millions of connected devices. - Provide technical leadership across cross-functional engineering teams, acting as a subject matter expert in IoT networking technologies and architecture. - Work directly with customers to design network and connectivity architectures that align with their operational requirements and security standards. - Lead cybersecurity discussions related to network architecture and ensure implemented solutions align with the agreed design. Additional Responsibilities - Develop architectural documentation including network diagrams, infrastructure blueprints, and system documentation. - Ensure network architectures comply with relevant industry standards such as ISO/IEC 30141 and applicable regulatory requirements including GDPR where applicable. - Support engineering and product teams in evaluating new IoT networking technologies and emerging industry trends. - Assist internal teams and clients with troubleshooting, optimization, and architectural improvements for deployed IoT environments. - Collaborate with internal product, engineering, and customer teams to refine Hyper’s recommended IoT network architecture solutions.
