About the Legal, Compliance, and Public Affairs Team The Legal, Compliance, and Public Affairs team is a group of dedicated professionals committed to helping Affirm scale, innovate, and provide outstanding products for consumers, merchants, and key partners. We combine legal, compliance, and policy expertise to guide growth, shape products, and build trust across our ecosystem. Our work spans multiple professional disciplines and provides the foundation for Affirm’s mission to deliver honest financial products. About the Team Affirm’s Compliance team designs and implements a compliance program that proactively addresses regulatory requirements while identifying and resolving potential issues. Compliance program activities include advisory, training, testing & monitoring, reporting, escalation, and oversight. Although a second line of defense, Compliance partners with the business to support new products and markets, change management, issue identification and remediation, and third-party assessment and monitoring. Compliance uses multiple data sources to enable informed decision-making, strengthen controls, and provide for better treatment of consumers. Affirm is seeking a Compliance Analyst II to support our Integrated/Core Compliance Advisory team. In this role, you will ensure adherence to applicable regulatory requirements, provide clear guidance to Affirm’s Product and Operations teams to mitigate risk and ensure compliance, and collaborate with cross-functional partners including Legal, Risk, Operations, Product, Marketing, Engineering and senior leadership to drive process improvements and further mature our compliance program. This remote role reports to the Compliance Manager and requires the ability to work independently and cross-functionally. What You’ll Do - Provide guidance for Affirm’s Product and Operations teams on applicable regulatory requirements related to any changes to products or services, issue remediation, and marketing reviews. - Review and approve financial services marketing materials to ensure they comply with regulations and industry standards. - Support team members in their oversight and credible challenge on product enhancements, marketing promotions and servicing changes, including third-party oversight; work cross-functionally to address compliance issues at the root cause. - Partner with the Complaints Compliance team to leverage complaint insights and drive durable product and process fixes within servicing. - Support responses to regulatory and bank-partner inquiries, audits, and examinations through second-line reviews and documentation/evidence. - Contribute to developing and implementing policies, procedures, and controls through second-line advisory, review, and oversight to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. - Other duties as assigned. What We Look For - Working knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and regulatory trends that impact Affirm’s business, e.g. UDAAP, CAN-SPAM, FCRA, TILA/Reg Z, state lending laws. - Ability to research and investigate where knowledge is lacking, building subject matter expertise. - Experience in completing subject specific compliance testing and/or assessment activities. - Strong communication and relationship management skills. - Inquisitive and proactive in proposing creative and effective solutions and ability to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment. - Strong project management, critical thinking and analytical skills. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly present complex and sensitive issues. - Proficient computer navigation skills using a variety of software packages, including Google docs, word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations. - Ability to work in a self-directed environment with excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving ability, who can assist with minimal guidance. - Experience working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments. - A minimum of 2 years of professional work experience in consumer lending, BNPL or installment financing in a compliance risk or audit role is highly preferred. Base Pay Grade - H Equity Grade - 3 Employees new to Affirm typically come in at the start of the pay range. Affirm focuses on providing a simple and transparent pay structure which is based on a variety of factors, including location, experience and job-related skills. Base pay is part of a total compensation package that may include equity rewards, monthly stipends for health, wellness and tech spending, and benefits (including 100% subsidized medical coverage, dental and vision for you and your dependents.)
