Business Development Manager

• Generate leads and engage prospective clients within assigned state or territory. • Maintain industry connections to stay informed about state utility trends, regulatory changes, and competitor activity. • Support early pursuit efforts by identifying potential partners and contributing to teaming decisions. • Lead development of state-level growth strategies aligned with regulatory landscapes and market opportunities. • Provide state-specific insights to clients and internal teams. • Contribute to regional strategy discussions as appropriate. • Apply established BD principles, industry practices, and company standards to advance opportunities. • Collaborate with BD Directors, Solutions, and Delivery teams to support proposal development. • Participate in client meetings to position the company effectively. • Work closely with regional BD team members to coordinate opportunity planning and client engagement. • Share insights and information that enhance regional forecasting, planning, and pipeline management.
Job Requirements
- Experience in the energy efficiency industry required.
- 6–9 years with a BA; 4–7 years with an MBA
- Strong understanding of: Core BD principles and practices
- State-level market dynamics and regulatory environments
- Industry standards and typical utility program models
