Director of Human Resources

• Oversee all human resources duties, company policies, budgets and volunteer relations • Review and update guidebooks frequently • Work directly with the CEO to develop and manage the organization’s culture • Implementation and update workflows in our HR system • Work closely with the CEO and Department Directors to create and update volunteer requirements and descriptions for all volunteer positions • Oversee the recruiting and onboarding process • Review annual evaluations of interns and volunteers • Handle volunteer relations, mediate conflict, and review complaints • Guide HR Assistant in the preparation, updates and recommendation of policies and procedures • Communicate these changes with Directors and Executives, as well as all interns and volunteers, to ensure understanding and compliance • Review budget with CFO and evaluate cost of contract workers and reimbursements when creating volunteer position descriptions and prior to signing contracts • Ensure volunteers, interns, and contracted workers are fulfilling their roles and utilizing their skills appropriately • Work closely with Department Directors and executives to carry out disciplinary and termination processes/procedures for volunteers and/or interns that do not adequately meet expectations or fulfill their role • Obtain guidance from an Attorney as needed • Work closely with the Attorney and CFO to ensure financial operations, processes and procedures comply with federal and state laws regarding payments and reimbursements for BOD, volunteers and contractors • Work with the Volunteer Coordinator to schedule and conduct training programs, evaluate the effectiveness of training programs, and maintain records of volunteers’ participation in training and development programs • Work closely with the International Development Department and Attorney to ensure proper documents are gathered and maintained for volunteer trips • Create safety guidelines for volunteer trips, maintain incident records, and work closely with the Trip Coordinator to make changes to processes and procedures to maintain safety

- PC skills utilizing Word and Excel

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent role and responsibilities
- 6+ years of increasing experience in Human Resources
- 3+ years in a leadership/management role
