• Interpret legal documents to determine tax liability and compliance • Tax Planning, Accounting, Research, Compliance, and Audit Defense • Serve as principal contact on projects with governmental officials, outside counsel, and business partners • Responsible for ensuring timely filing of tax returns and accurate accounting reserves • Serve as liaison between SSC and subsidiary businesses in the US and internationally • Participation on cross-functional teams as a subject-matter expert • Coaching and mentoring of associates in the department
Job Requirements
- Must be eighteen years of age or older.
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
- CPA, CMI, or JD Preferred
- MACc, MBA or MTAX Preferred
- 3-5 years Experience Preferred
- Experience in tax compliance, audit, research, and accounting.
- Demonstrate technical tax skills appropriate for the years of experience in the one or more tax disciplines.
- Demonstrate leadership and interpersonal skills, including the ability to manage and implement multiple complex projects, people management, and communications to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proven analytical and problem resolution skills.

This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys working in the details, taking ownership of core accounting processes, and helping build scalable systems in a fast-paced environment. You will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial records, strong internal controls, and timely close and reporting. - This position reports directly to the Senior Accounting Manager and is a highly cross-functional role that will require close collaboration with internal and external teams. • Daily transaction review to ensure proper classification of expenses • Own accounts payable functions including processing vendor invoices, employee expense reports, and ensure accurate coding and approvals • Invoicing and collections, including communication with customers and new customer setup • Assist with month-end close processing, including monthly JEs and reconciliations • Verify accuracy of data, identify & correct errors • Collaborate cross-functionally with all business units to resolve open questions in a timely manner • Provide ad-hoc support to the accounting/finance team • Continued focus on improving system efficiencies and business practice
• Perform data analytics at a project level to monitor project performance and provide high level comments regarding the financial status of projects. • Coordinate completion of project setups with the Project Manager to ensure that the project is in accordance with the terms of the contract and MBI Approval Authority Policy. • Responsible for monitoring and addressing project maintenance within Oracle and budget/funding updates as needed. • Responsible for monthly reporting to the Regional Project Accounting Manager including detailed comments on project status that meet exception reporting and projects marked as significant for unbilled and unearned revenue. • Actively participate in project performance reviews and provide financial commentary on projects where applicable. • Provide support and assist with requests from the Project Managers and/or Department Managers.
