This role partners directly with project and program teams to apply foundational project management practices, increase transparency into delivery health, proactively surface risks and issues, and help implement and mature portfolio management standards. This is a hands-on consulting and analytics role focused on improving execution, decision-useful reporting, and cross-portfolio coordination. Your Work: - Partner with project and program managers to apply core project management practices (scope clarity, schedule integrity, RAID management, financial tracking, dependency mapping). - Review and challenge delivery artifacts to ensure clarity, measurability, and alignment to SPMO standards. - Support teams in defining clear critical paths, milestones, and measurable completion criteria. - Coach teams on risk identification, mitigation planning, and early warning indicators. - Reinforce accountability by ensuring deliverables specify what must be done, by when, by whom, and how success will be measured. - Develop and maintain standardized dashboards that provide transparent, objective views of delivery health. - Ensure reporting reflects: schedule performance (achievement adherence, critical path variance), financial health (budget vs forecast, cost to complete), risk exposure and issue aging, dependency status, and benefits realization indicators (where applicable). - Validate data quality and challenge overly optimistic reporting. - Translate data into actionable insights for leadership forums. - Support quarterly portfolio reviews and executive reporting. - Aggregate and analyze risks/issues across initiatives to identify systemic patterns. - Facilitate cross-workstream risk resolution sessions. - Track aging, escalation, and mitigation effectiveness. - Support structured escalation of material risks to governance forums. - Ensure interdependencies are documented, actively managed, and visible. - Support rollout of new project, program, and portfolio management practices. - Participate in standardizing templates, playbooks, and operating rhythms. - Gather feedback from delivery teams and recommend practical improvements. - Help institutionalize lessons learned and postmortem insights. - Contribute to maturing governance gates and health review processes. Required Experience, Education and Skills - Bachelor's degree in related area or an equivalent combination of education and experience - 8+ years of experience in portfolio, program and project management - Understanding of project management principles and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall). - Experience with project management software and tools (Smartsheet, Project, Asana, Monday, etc.). - Strong organizational and time management skills. - Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). - Ability to work effectively in a team environment. - Strong attention to detail and accuracy. - Experience with risk management and mitigation strategies. - Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. - Leadership and mentoring skills. - Ability to influence and negotiate with business partners. - Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities.
