The Electrical Engineer supports embedded electronic design and development for consumer products, contributing to schematic design, PCB layout support, firmware development, and product validation. Key Responsibilities - Support the design and development of consumer products from concept through production as part of the global Electrical Engineering organization. - Contribute to embedded hardware and firmware design, including schematic capture, component selection, and firmware development. - Assist with the development and review of product electrical and firmware architecture in collaboration with senior engineers. - Work with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Product Marketing, Manufacturing, and Compliance, to support product requirements and execution. - Help prepare and maintain clear hardware and firmware documentation, specifications, and design records. - Support compliance and certification activities, including testing and issue resolution related to EMI/EMC and safety standards. - Participate in design reviews, prototype builds, and product testing activities. - Assist with BOM development, cost tracking, DFMEA inputs, and documentation within PLM systems. - Collaborate with global teams and contract manufacturers to support design implementation and production readiness. - Contribute to troubleshooting and problem-solving efforts throughout development and validation phases. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent. - 1-3+ years of experience in embedded hardware and/or firmware development. - Foundational experience in electrical design, including component selection, schematic development, and design documentation. - Exposure to embedded firmware development for microcontrollers, including basic design, testing, and debugging. - Familiarity with Design for Manufacturability, testability, and reliability concepts. - Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. - Willingness to work with evolving requirements and learn through ambiguity with guidance. - Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. - Effective verbal and written communication skills. - Ability to collaborate well within cross-functional teams. Preferred Qualifications - Familiarity with development tools such as compilers, IDEs, JIRA, and version control systems (e.g., SVN). - Experience working on consumer products or within a consumer goods or consulting environment.
