Role Description Turner Staffing Group is hiring for a Project Lead for our client to interface with customers, engineers, outside agencies, supervisors, and managers regarding electric distribution and transmission services. This role evaluates, analyzes, and implements productivity tools, including hardware, software, and training. The Project Lead develops and delivers technical instruction and production support to improve automation efforts and overall performance, reviews designs for completeness, accuracy, and quality, prepares cost estimates, performs project management functions on complex projects, and assists with system development and enhancements. - Report directly to the Distribution Improvements (DI) Senior Design Manager and support all three DI Design groups. - Support design functions across all Distribution Improvements Design groups, including Cable Replacement, System Improvements, and Customer Improvements. - Support DI Design and Analysts in developing improved estimating processes. - Review projects for design standards, drafting standards, and CUE compliance, and identify training opportunities based on recurring inconsistencies and errors. - Coordinate with other DI Project Leads to ensure consistency in design standards and resolve common design issues. - Provide coverage for meetings with municipalities and customers when primary Project Leads are unavailable. - Meet with stakeholders to identify best practices for streamlining the permitting process and improving project efficiency. - Develop training materials and facilitate onboarding for new employees while providing ongoing training for existing staff. - Participate in the CAD Governance Committee. - Lead CAD efforts for municipal projects, including referencing customer files into utility survey base files. - Coordinate with the survey team to verify that project submittals and requests are complete and accurate so work can proceed efficiently. - Attend pre-construction meetings and coordinate with Construction Consultants to ensure design accuracy and constructability. - Serve as the primary point of contact for DI Design to ensure external design details remain current and up to date. Role Description Turner Staffing Group is seeking a Design Consultant/Engineer for our client to support the planning, design, and coordination of electrical distribution projects. This role serves as a key liaison between customers, contractors, engineers, and internal stakeholders to deliver safe, accurate, and cost-effective electrical facility designs while ensuring compliance with company standards and municipal requirements. - Coordinate and collaborate with construction, engineering, land agents, survey teams, customers, contractors, developers, property owners, and other internal and external stakeholders to develop electrical facility designs that meet safety, quality, and engineering standards. - Serve as the primary point of contact throughout the design process, maintaining clear communication with customers, contractors, developers, and project stakeholders. - Manage project expectations, including schedules, service level agreements, deliverables, costs, responsibilities, and safety requirements. - Partner closely with CAD Technicians by providing preliminary design sketches, establishing priorities and deadlines, monitoring progress, and reviewing completed drawings for accuracy and quality. - Utilize CAD tools to support and review electrical distribution designs. - Read, interpret, and apply a variety of plan sets and mapping resources, including electrical, civil, architectural, structural, geographic, municipal, and customer-provided documents. - Perform field visits to verify site conditions, validate reference maps, identify design constraints, and confirm project scope. - Independently prioritize workload and determine when projects are ready to advance through the design process. - Maintain accurate project documentation and tracking using the Work Management System while ensuring compliance with established procedures. - Assign, monitor, and manage project milestones and due dates for internal teams and external stakeholders. - Oversee design activities specific to assigned business processes and ensure timely project completion. - Prepare material lists and inventories required for construction. - Calculate design and construction costs in accordance with company policies and prepare accurate design agreements and construction contracts. - Ensure designs comply with municipal permitting requirements, construction and engineering standards, engineering tools, and land rights requirements to facilitate successful permit approvals. - Assist with training and mentoring other design team members as needed. - Identify and resolve job-site hazards and encroachment issues. - Demonstrate knowledge of electrical distribution systems, including applicable components and conductor types. - Provide detailed project documentation, history, and technical knowledge as requested. Drone Operator – Entry Level
