Swing Development (SwingDev)

• You'll design intuitive, accessible internal tools that Hippo teams use every day – the kind of work where you can message your users on Slack and watch your designs move metrics within a sprint. • You'll partner with PMs and Engineers from discovery onward – defining problems, exploring solutions, shipping features that move real operational metrics (handle time, error rates, throughput). • You'll run user interviews, shadow sessions, and lightweight feedback loops with the people who actually use the tools. • You'll sketch, wireframe, and prototype at the right fidelity for the question you're trying to answer (we use Figma and LLMs daily). • You'll facilitate the messy conversations that get product, design, and engineering aligned. • You'll share your work openly: process, half-formed ideas, and mistakes included. You'll show up to design crits with opinions and leave with better work.

• Take care of the entire end-to-end recruitment process (i.e., briefs with Hiring Managers, reaching out to candidates, writing job ads, conducting interviews, or providing feedback). • Ensure a great Candidate Experience while cooperating daily with Hiring Managers from Poland and the United States. • Look for answers independently, propose ideas, and seek improvements.

• You'll implement backends and their interactions with various data stores and other APIs (including 3rd party APIs). • You'll work in an agile environment focusing on projects that are impactful on our business. • You'll support reliable databases and APIs for real-time automated decision-making. • You'll deploy your software using industry-standard tooling like Kubernetes clusters, and Lambda functions. • You'll investigate and resolve production issues by analyzing code, data, and system behavior and then propose and implement timely fixes to minimize user impact. • You'll care deeply about security in everything you do and constantly raise the baseline of how we defend our user's data against external threats and themselves. • You'll implement robust automated test suites to ensure high quality and low failure rate of delivered code. • You'll work closely with Product Managers, Senior Engineers and Architects to understand business processes, rules, and requirements, and turn them into high-quality code with automated tests, and deploy them to production. • You’ll have a lot of chances to develop your programming skills as well as learn a lot about how tech business is done in the US (if you want to).

• Lead a multidisciplinary data organization, hiring, developing, and establishing career frameworks while bridging legacy expertise with modern platform capabilities • Collaborate closely with analytics, product, engineering, and business teams to provide the platform foundation they depend on • Own the architecture and delivery of the enterprise data platform across cloud environments, supporting batch, streaming, structured, and unstructured data • Define and govern enterprise-level data architecture patterns and data modeling standards, applying them pragmatically across domains • Develop integration strategies for source systems to enhance data quality, prevent technical debt, and optimize access to reliable data • Establish the data product model with clear ownership, SLAs, versioning, and discoverability, shifting the team’s output from pipelines to trusted, consumable data assets • Lead the design and build of the enterprise semantic layer with canonical metrics and business definitions that serve BI tooling, AI grounding, and operational consumers from a single source of truth • Embed governance in the engineering lifecycle through data contracts, policy-as-code, lineage automation, quality checks, and access controls with auditable versioning • Build the data infrastructure required for AI/ML workloads, including feature pipelines, vector stores, embedding pipelines, and model-ready data products across all enterprise data assets

• You’ll design, build, and maintain reliable backend solutions that form the foundation of our systems. • You'll act as a technical leader within the team, taking ownership of projects or domains, guiding technical decisions, and helping other engineers grow. • You’ll partner closely with product, data engineering, analytics, and business teams across multiple domains to drive meaningful projects from concept to delivery. • You’ll actively shape our software architecture, bringing your ideas and expertise into technical discussions. • You’ll work hand-in-hand with product and quality assurance teams to ensure your code meets the highest standards of reliability and performance. • You’ll balance maintaining existing systems with developing new features, ensuring stability while pushing innovation.

• You'll deeply collaborate with Engineering teams. This includes actively participating in the development of new features and initiatives, from initial requirement analysis and test planning to execution, regression testing, and final release sign-off. • You'll partner closely with Product Managers. This means you will be responsible for prioritizing testing efforts, clarifying requirements, challenging assumptions from a quality perspective, coordinating Business Acceptance Testing, and advocating for the needs of our customers. • You'll work closely with SDETs to expand and maintain our automated test coverage for new features and regression testing. You'll also collaborate with other manual QA engineers on cross-team and cross-BU projects. • You'll proactively identify and mitigate potential risks, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and reliability.

• You’ll shape and own the product strategy and roadmap for our Insurance Products charter, balancing growth, risk, customer experience, and operational complexity. • You’ll lead the end-to-end execution of insurance product changes across pricing, coverages, discounts, eligibility, and business rule – and keep a close eye on performance after launch. • You’ll look for ways to speed up how we deliver product changes by improving tools, processes, and automation. • You’ll drive large, cross-functional compliance and regulatory initiatives, partnering with Insurance, Legal/Compliance, Operations, and Engineering to deliver on time with clear risk mitigation and auditability. • You’ll turn insights into clear, actionable requirements (PRDs, user stories, acceptance criteria) and work closely with Engineering, Design, and Data to ship high-quality solutions. • You’ll build a strong operating rhythm for the team – owning prioritization, stakeholder alignment, launch readiness, training, communications, and performance tracking. • You’ll define success metrics and KPIs, measure the impact of product changes, and continuously iterate based on data and results. • You’ll communicate progress, trade-offs, and outcomes to leadership through clear, data-driven narratives that highlight both business and customer impact.

• Define and own enterprise-wide data architecture and modeling standards. • Design conceptual, logical, and physical data models across our core business domains. • Build our modern data platform – pipelines, lakehouse/warehouse layers, and medallion-architected datasets. • Create scalable, AI-ready data environments that support analytics, data products, and future AI/ML initiatives. • Partner with engineers, analytics teams, and business stakeholders to ensure data is reliable, reusable, and secure. • Implement strong data governance, observability, and cataloging to enable true self-service and support data mesh principles. • Drive strategic technical decisions, influencing platform and tooling choices with a modern, cloud-native mindset. • Translate complex data and AI concepts into simple, compelling narratives for non-technical audiences. • Advise on emerging AI architectures, including RAG patterns and enterprise AI agents. • Shape a healthy, modern, future-proof data environment from the ground up – without technical debt.
