AI Production Standards Lead

Nexcess

Liquid Web is committed to offering equal employment opportunity without regard to age, color, disability, gender, gender identity, genetic information, marital status, military status, national origin, race, religion, sexual orientation, veteran status, or any other legally protected characteristic.

Role Description Nexcess is building a creative engine that produces at scale across multiple business units, a growing ICP list, and a wide range of formats and channels. The goal is simple: get a lot of great marketing work in front of the right customers and make them genuinely excited about what Nexcess can do for them. You’ll sit on the Creative team, reporting to the Creative Director. Your mandate is to own the standard for the work the marketing org produces, and to take on and evolve the AI workflows we’ve already started to build, making them work harder and more consistently across the teams using them. You’ll collaborate with demand gen, brand, and leadership to ensure that whatever comes through the system sounds like us and does its job. This isn’t a role where you make great work in isolation. You’ll be shaping how an entire marketing org produces it. If you’re someone who gets energy from working at pace and seeing your work land at scale, this is the role for you. You are not a perfectionist. You have high standards and the pragmatism to know when something is good and ready to go. You understand that a well-executed piece of work that does its job is a win. Critically, you’ve figured out how to work with AI to produce genuinely good outcomes at pace, and you know how to bring a team along with you. The measure of this role isn’t how good your own output is. It’s how good the team’s output becomes without intervention. Responsibilities - Own and continuously evolve AI-enabled content production workflows across the marketing organization, ensuring outputs are on-brand, on-brief, compliant, and publish-ready at scale. - Establish, document, and maintain enterprise-wide standards for marketing content quality, brand voice, messaging consistency, and production excellence across all channels and formats. - Serve as the organizational authority on AI-assisted content creation, identifying emerging tools, best practices, and opportunities to improve speed, quality, and efficiency. - Design, implement, and govern scalable AI production frameworks, templates, prompts, workflows, and quality controls that enable consistent execution across multiple teams and contributors. - Partner with Demand Generation, Brand, Partnerships, Product Marketing, and executive leadership to ensure content strategies align with business objectives and customer engagement goals. - Enable marketers, writers, subject matter experts, and business stakeholders to produce higher-quality content independently through coaching, training, documentation, and hands-on guidance. - Develop and maintain content governance practices, review processes, and publishing standards that promote accountability, consistency, and operational excellence. - Audit marketing outputs and production processes to identify quality gaps, workflow inefficiencies, adoption barriers, and opportunities for continuous improvement. - Analyze content performance, workflow effectiveness, and production metrics to measure success and inform optimization strategies. - Establish quality assurance methodologies and review mechanisms that ensure AI-generated and human-generated content consistently meets organizational standards. - Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, playbooks, training materials, and knowledge resources that support long-term scalability and adoption. - Collaborate with leadership to define what "good" looks like, translating brand expectations into measurable standards, behaviors, and outcomes. - Identify root causes of quality, consistency, or production challenges and implement sustainable solutions that improve performance at the system level. - Champion change management and adoption efforts related to AI-enabled marketing practices, helping teams build confidence and proficiency in new ways of working. - Monitor industry trends, emerging AI technologies, and competitive practices to continuously evolve Nexcess's content production capabilities and maintain a leadership position in AI-assisted marketing. - Drive operational excellence by balancing quality, speed, scalability, and business impact, ensuring marketing teams can execute effectively without sacrificing brand integrity. - Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and success measures for content quality, workflow adoption, production efficiency, and AI utilization, regularly reporting progress and recommendations to leadership. - Influence cross-functional stakeholders to align on standards, priorities, and best practices that elevate the overall effectiveness of the marketing organization. - Foster a culture of experimentation, learning, and continuous improvement, encouraging teams to leverage AI responsibly and effectively to maximize business outcomes. - Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications - Minimum of 4 years of experience in content strategy, editorial, creative operations, marketing enablement, content marketing, or a related marketing discipline. - Strong editorial, creative, or content strategy background with experience establishing and maintaining quality standards across teams or organizations. - Deep expertise with AI-powered content creation tools and experience designing, implementing, and optimizing scalable workflows. - Proven ability to build systems, playbooks, and processes that enable others to produce high-quality work consistently and independently. - Experience influencing and coaching cross-functional stakeholders without direct authority. - Strong understanding of content operations, workflow design, quality assurance, and continuous improvement practices. - Solid knowledge of B2B marketing, customer journeys, and adapting messaging across audiences and channels. - Excellent communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with the ability to drive scalable solutions. - Demonstrated ability to balance quality, speed, innovation, and business priorities in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications - Experience leading AI adoption, content operations, marketing enablement, or digital transformation initiatives. - Experience in SaaS, cloud technology, hosting, managed services, or other B2B technology environments. - Familiarity with prompt engineering, AI governance, workflow automation, and content quality frameworks. - Experience developing training, coaching, or enablement programs that support organizational adoption and capability building.
