Role Description As a Senior Software Engineer on the Banking Integration Platform Team, you’ll play a key role as a technical leader and hands-on engineer in building seamless connections between Mercury and the outside financial world. Building Mercury Bank is the most important adventure the company is embarking on, and you have the opportunity to go on this mission. As part of this role, you will: - Build Mercury’s integration with an FFIEC-approved bank core and the connections to payment networks. - Design internal APIs that give product teams simple, consistent interfaces to complex external systems. - Handle the messy realities of enterprise integrations such as retries, failures, format mismatches, and downtime. - Build data pipelines that keep Mercury's systems in sync with our bank core. - Own monitoring, alerting, and recovery for our most critical external connections. - Partner with many other teams at Mercury to define clean boundaries and reliable contracts. - Help shape the technical architecture of Mercury Bank. Qualifications - 7+ years of professional software engineering experience building and operating backend infrastructure and distributed systems at scale. - Experience integrating modern distributed software systems with older, legacy infrastructure, preferably in a highly-regulated environment. - Understanding of how banks and banking systems work: accounts, transactions, ledgers, and the data models underneath. - Product-minded engineer who thinks about the developers consuming your APIs, not just the systems you’re connecting to. - Thrives in environments where you're building something new rather than maintaining something established. - Comfortable with our tech stack (Haskell) or ready to learn. - Strong and justified opinions about building reliable, maintainable systems. Benefits The total rewards package at Mercury includes base salary, equity (stock options), and benefits. Our salary and equity ranges are highly competitive within the SaaS and fintech industry and are updated regularly using the most reliable compensation survey data for our industry. • Set and run Design Ops' strategy: Own the strategic direction for Design Ops (where the function needs to go, why, and what we're deliberately not doing), and drive it through execution yourself, from roadmap to delivery. • Own Design's AI-first point of view: Set the strategy and decision framework for how Design adopts AI tooling and reshapes its process, in partnership with Design Leaders and Product Ops. Be ready to build yourself: the skills, agents, and workflows designers will use day to day. Partner with Procurement to secure access to new tools. • Architect systems that scale: Design, build, and run the operating system that lets the design org keep scaling year over year without adding overhead. Keep processes lightweight: introduce only what's needed to advance quality and give the team visibility. • Set and execute the design culture strategy: Define what culture and quality rituals should exist (all-hands, onsites, team rituals) and the outcomes they need to drive, then own the execution, looping in design managers or cross-functional partners for support. • Build and run Design's external presence strategy: Own the strategy for how Mercury Design shows up externally to support hiring and brand, and drive execution, from content to events to award submissions in partnership with the Comms team. • Define and run onboarding & enablement: Set the strategy and quality bar for how new designers ramp, in partnership with EPD Ops, and own the programming. • Be the cross-functional connective tissue: Build relationships across Product Ops, Research Ops, Eng Ops, and design leadership that make you a first call on ambiguous, cross-functional problems. Break down silos, navigate competing priorities, and move multi-stakeholder programs to a conclusion, including with executive partners. • Be a strategic thought partner to the VP of Design and design managers: Bring an independent point of view to conversations on team health, quality, and priorities, and translate design leadership's goals into Design Ops' strategy and roadmap. • Define what gets measured: Set the success metrics and reporting cadence for design programs across the org, and use them to make the case for where to invest next, including additional Design Ops headcount as the function's remit grows.
• Own product-level SEO and AI Search strategies, using performance data, competitor deep dives, and audience insights to prioritize opportunities, close coverage gaps, and improve content effectiveness over time — ultimately driving qualified traffic that converts into Mercury account applications and revenue. • Partner cross-functionally with Social, Product, Product Marketing, Engineering, and Community teams to turn SEO and AEO opportunities into shipped work across channels — including blog content, YouTube scripts, social, and community surfaces • Own the technical SEO/AEO roadmap for Mercury.com, working closely with Engineering to improve page speed, rendering, and site architecture and experiment with new delivery techniques to make the site accessible and fast for both humans and bots • Build repeatable systems, AI workflows, and guidelines that increase the consistency, efficiency, and impact of Mercury’s SEO and AEO efforts • Drive SEO-driven evergreen content optimizations, working with content partners to improve performance while preserving writing quality, usefulness, and brand standards • Identify and scope high-value tools, templates, calculators, downloadable PDFs, and other multi-format assets that make Mercury content more useful, shareable, linkable, and cite-worthy • Relentlessly test new plays for improving traditional and AI search traffic and visibility — from new page types to edge caching for bots — scaling what works, stopping what doesn't, and feeding learnings back into team-wide strategy
• Build and maintain relationships with venture capital and law firms • Collaborate with internal teams to support partnership goals • Identify and pursue new business opportunities

Role Description Security failures are rarely caused by a single technical mistake. More often, they stem from gaps in governance, risk management, operational discipline, and accountability. Strong GRC programs help prevent those failures by making security a business priority, not just a technical concern. Mercury is growing rapidly, and as we scale, we need to continue building resilience, strengthening governance, and improving the way we manage risk across the company. We have a strong foundation today, but the next phase of growth will require scalable programs, thoughtful controls, and cross functional partnerships that allow Mercury to move quickly without sacrificing security. We are looking for an Information Security GRC Analyst to help mature Mercury’s security, risk, and compliance programs. This is not a traditional compliance role focused only on audits and evidence collection. You will help build the systems, processes, and guardrails that support business continuity, customer trust, and long term resilience. In this role, you will: - Lead and support security risk assessments across products, systems, vendors, and business initiatives. - Partner with Engineering, Product, IT, Legal, Operations, and other teams to identify, evaluate, and mitigate risk. - Drive audit readiness and compliance initiatives across frameworks such as SOC 2, PCI DSS, NIST, CIS, and ISO 27001. - Conduct gap assessments against security and compliance frameworks, then build practical plans to close those gaps. - Design, implement, and mature scalable governance processes and security controls. - Help improve Mercury’s business continuity, resilience, and third party risk management programs. - Translate compliance and risk requirements into clear, actionable guidance for technical and non-technical stakeholders. - Identify opportunities to automate controls, evidence collection, and recurring GRC workflows. - Help ensure Mercury’s security program remains strong, efficient, and aligned with the speed of the business. Qualifications - Have experience scaling security, risk, compliance, or governance programs in a high growth SaaS, fintech, or cloud native environment. - Understand security frameworks such as SOC 2, PCI DSS, NIST, CIS, and ISO 27001, and can translate them into practical controls. - Bring strong ownership and project management skills, with a track record of driving cross functional initiatives from concept to completion. - Are comfortable creating structure from ambiguity and building programs or processes from scratch. - Take a risk based approach to decision making and can distinguish between theoretical risk and material business risk. - Communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders. - Have enough technical depth to partner effectively with engineers and evaluate security controls in cloud native environments. - Care about building security programs that enable the business rather than slow it down. Requirements - Tools and technologies you may work with: - AWS Config and AWS Audit Manager - GitHub - Vanta - GRC platforms and workflow tools - Cloud native security and compliance tooling Benefits - The total rewards package at Mercury includes base salary, equity, and benefits. - Our salary and equity ranges are highly competitive within the SaaS and fintech industry and are updated regularly using reliable compensation survey data. - New hire offers are made based on a candidate’s experience, expertise, geographic location, and internal pay equity relative to peers. - Our target new hire base salary ranges for this role are: - US employees in New York City, Los Angeles, Seattle, or the San Francisco Bay Area: $153,400 to $191,800 - US employees outside of New York City, Los Angeles, Seattle, or the San Francisco Bay Area: $138,100 to $172,600 - Canadian employees, any location: CAD 145,000 to CAD 181,300 Company Description Mercury is a fintech company, not an FDIC-insured bank.
