Role Description We’re looking for a Tax Manager to join our Finance team! This is a key role in planning and implementing Mapbox’s global tax strategy. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter and hands-on tax accountant with a strong understanding of both income and indirect taxation who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This role is scoped as an Individual Contributor position focused on technical/functional ownership rather than personnel management. Identify, assess, and document the tax implications of any such changes. Continuously monitor sales & use and corporate tax nexus. - Assist with corporate entity compliance, U.S. and international registrations, as well as new entity formation. - Support the company's sales and legal teams by providing guidance on tax implications during the deal negotiation process. - Responsible for maintaining all third-party software related to indirect sales tax (i.e. Avalara, Stripe, etc.). Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in accounting required. - Master’s degree in taxation preferred. - CPA (or in the examination/licensing process) preferred. - Minimum 6-10 years of tax experience required; Software experience a plus. - Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP and pivot tables). - Experience with Netsuite, Avalara, and Stripe is a plus. - Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. - Must be detail-oriented, analytical, and able to multi-task with an attention for accuracy. - Must be dependable with the ability to problem-solve and function independently.
