Linear

• Support customers in end-to-end engagement, including onboarding, account setup, debugging issues, feature and integration discovery • Investigate and resolve inbound customer issues reported through all communication channels, including email, Slack, Twitter, and Reddit • Partner with our engineering team to document and reproduce bugs • Surface trends and insights from customer feedback to the team at large to inform product choices • Lead select strategic projects to improve the support experience, internal knowledge sharing, and product operations

• Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close: financial statements, reconciliations, journal entries, and flux analysis • Build our accounting infrastructure from scratch: chart of accounts, close cadence, internal controls, and accounting policies • Lead our annual audit and keep us audit-ready year-round • Manage tax compliance, payroll accounting, and entity-level filings • Partner with Finance, Legal, and People to keep financial operations aligned with how the business is actually running • Find and eliminate manual work: automate what can be automated, document what needs to be documented • Eventually hire and manage a small team of accountants while staying hands-on in the work yourself

• Pair closely with engineering and product to initiate and complete roadmap projects, no hand-offs • Spot opportunities to redesign or refine key screens and flows, as well as smaller quality issues and “paper cuts” as you use Linear • Create mockups, prototypes, and high-fidelity visuals to communicate ideas and describe their execution • Guide and inspire fellow designers through collaborative critique of work-in-progress • Use and improve our lightweight design system components • Help with hiring new teammates that can elevate our team and product

• Deeply understand Linear’s product, especially our AI agent and newer capabilities, and continuously discover productive, real-world use cases that teams would care about • Create content that demonstrates those use cases, whether that’s short-form social, blog posts, video walkthroughs, or live demos. Format follows the story, not the other way around • Build relationships with engineering and product-focused creators and collaborate on content that feels authentic rather than sponsored • Work with our video team to produce technical product content that comes across with genuine depth • Partner with support, sales, and product on developer-facing documentation and educational content • Stay plugged into the conversations happening on X, in newsletters, and at events, and make sure Linear has a voice in the ones that matter

• Become a product expert and help customers use Linear effectively; assist prospects through the trial and evaluation phase • Generate a strong pipeline and exceed quarterly targets • Stay up to date with our product offering, industry trends, competitive landscape, and market trends to continuously adapt sales strategies and approaches for maximum impact • Build relationships with key stakeholders within accounts; understand client needs deeply, align Linear’s solutions to business objectives + shape decision criteria. Effectively communicate and align our value proposition to decision-makers • Be the voice of the customer; advocate for customers by surfacing product or adoption blockers to our product team • Help build the foundation and define our enterprise sales process

• Lead and coach a team of Growth AEs, helping them run disciplined discovery, manage active pipelines, and close expansion opportunities with fast-growing companies. • Establish strong operating rigor around pipeline management, forecasting accuracy, and opportunity qualification to drive consistent revenue performance. • Work closely with Marketing and Growth teams to convert inbound demand into qualified opportunities and ensure strong pipeline coverage. • Identify patterns across customer conversations and funnel data to continuously refine messaging, segmentation, and sales playbooks. • Partner with Customer Success to ensure smooth onboarding and identify expansion opportunities as customers grow their teams.

• Work closely with founders and design to implement new concepts and ideas • Build AI-powered functionality into the core of Linear • Update our realtime collaborative content editor used across all internal surfaces • Build new user-facing features with beautiful and scalable UI components • Obsessively improve application performance • Refine our software development processes to keep the team operating at high velocity

• Perform up-front discovery through user interviews, competitive research, data analysis, etc. and present findings to the team with conviction and rigor • Help engineers and designers deeply understand user needs, empowering them to make great product decisions • Craft messaging around upcoming features that resonates with users • Enable sales and marketing teams to effectively communicate with and win with customers

• Build new user-facing features with everything from database models to GraphQL resolvers and UI components • Optimize our data synchronization stack by applying better serialization protocols • Add real-time collaborative editing to our content editor • Improve performance by profiling and tweaking virtualized list rendering • Add analytics, monitoring, and alerts to our service so that we can better respond to operational incidents • Open-source any non-trivial innovations that come out of our work on the product • Redefine best-in-class software development processes so that we can build a purpose-built product.
