Lightning Labs

• Own and drive Lightning Labs' marketing strategy across product launches, developer campaigns, content, and community engagement. • Define and create measurable KPIs to ensure efficient resource allocation across the wide variety of potential marketing activities. • Build and execute go-to-market plans for new product launches and protocol milestones, coordinating across product, engineering, content, and business development. • Own editorial quality and consistency for external content, from blog posts to social media and launch announcements. • Shape the broader narrative around Lightning's role in the future of payments, stablecoins, and AI-native commerce. • Track and report on marketing performance, using data to iterate on what is and isn't working. • Design and manage AI-assisted content systems, establishing quality standards, brand guidelines, and guardrails that enable scalable, high-quality output.

• Ship features, tooling, and integrations across Lightning Labs products including L402, Taproot Assets, Terminal Web, LND, and completely new products. • Build and maintain agent-facing tooling that makes Lightning Labs protocols and APIs accessible to AI agents and agentic workflows. • Create compelling, working demos that showcase end-to-end flows for developers and builders. • Identify high-signal use cases and translate them into tangible prototypes that communicate the value of building on Lightning. • Partner with business development, marketing, product, and engineering teams to identify workflows that can be automated or augmented with AI. • Build internal tools and scripts that reduce manual overhead and free the team to focus on higher-leverage work. • Operate with minimal direction. Understand the company's strategic priorities, identify where you can have the most impact, and execute. • Work closely with engineers, product, and business development to understand project context quickly and contribute meaningfully from day one on any given initiative. • Communicate progress, tradeoffs, and blockers clearly and proactively.

• Manage the underlying cloud and cluster technologies that compose our internal platform • Manage stateful backend services such as databases and Bitcoin/LN nodes • Utilize, operate, and extend observability tools (logging/monitoring/tracing) • Improve robustness & security of our platform using enhancements like operators and overlay networks • Advise/assist dev teams with integrations, such as Helm charts, cloud resources, and the k8s lifecycle

• Hire, grow, and mentor an engineering team to maximize team harmony and individual satisfaction • Cross-functional project management, engineering resource allocation, and prioritization • Software architecture design review and analysis • Create and own engineering processes to promote delivery of secure, reliable, robust software

• Define product vision, strategy, and roadmap for Lightning Labs’ infrastructure products • Drive product launches including working with cross-functional teams on messaging and goals • Strong written communication skills and ability to convey information about technical concepts to both internal and external audiences • Work cross-functionally with engineering, design, and other cross-functional teams to define and iterate on early-stage products • Engage with external third parties to assess partnership opportunities

• Designing and deploying active fuzzing, black+white box testing and penetration testing infrastructure for open source and production systems • Performing security audits and review of both internal production systems as well as open source software which interacts with Bitcoin+Lightning in a security critical manner • Provide mentorship and guidance to level up your teammates • Creating global security policy, standards, guidelines, and procedures to ensure ongoing maintenance of security • Overseeing security aspects of software release processes and infrastructure • Determining security team requirements for future growth • Developing and ensuring responsiveness of security incident management processes • Performing risk management assessments

• Design and implement core Lightning Network (LN) protocols and algorithms • Contribute to mission critical peer-to-peer cryptocurrency daemons written in Go • Collaborate with the greater team on the research and design of future iterations of LN • Participate in issue triage and code review of open source contributions to our various repos • Communicate with the wider community and industry about our software and technology

• Write advanced software tooling for automated channel management and initial client channel selection (autopilot) • Implement algorithms for ongoing capital management and optimization (fee maximization and capital efficiency) • Design and maintain a suite of monitoring and alert infrastructure for routing nodes • Develop and collect metrics to passively analyze of the health of the network based on graph and node level signals • Design and build novel systems designed to help nodes/users acquire and manage liquidity on the Lightning Network

• Developer Community Engagement • Embed yourself in the global Lightning developer community, from application builders to routing node operators to protocol developers. Understand their priorities and how Lightning Labs can help. • Attract new developers to the Lightning Network by creating projects exploring the possibilities of what can be built, highlighting community projects, and helping to organize opportunities for new developers to get involved. • Organize developer and community calls to communicate the latest updates from Lightning Labs, and help the product and engineering teams incorporate external feedback. • Business Development • Source new potential customers, from new Lightning-first developers to bitcoin technical teams that want to add Lightning support to existing companies that want to integrate Lightning into their products. • Support existing customers as a point of contact for issues with their software and by explaining new features and the business-related impacts of upgrading. • Understand developers’ business goals, and connect them with ecosystem participants that will help them succeed.
