Growth Operation Specialist (User Growth & Templates) 6 month Contract
GoodNotesGoodNotes was born from founder Steven Chan's frustration with taking legible, reusable, handwritten notes on his first iPad. Chan founded the company in 2011 to offer an unprecede
At Goodnotes, we believe that every individual holds untapped potential waiting to be unleashed. By reimagining the way we interact with information, we’re merging human creativity with the breakthrough capabilities of AI. Our renewed vision and mission drive us to create the best medium for human and AI collaboration, empowering users to explore new dimensions of productivity, creativity, and learning. Join us on this journey as we transform digital note-taking into an inspiring and innovative experience. Goodnotes is a note-taking and productivity app used by millions of students and professionals worldwide. At the heart of the app is a marketplace of digital templates — planners, notebooks, whiteboard canvases, and stickers — created by a global network of independent designers and digital stationery sellers. About the team This role sits within the Growth Team, whose mission is to acquire new users, convert them into subscribers, and keep them coming back. As a Growth Operations Specialist, you won't just manage the template marketplace — you'll use it as a growth lever. That means sourcing and onboarding high-quality templates, identifying which ones are driving user activation and retention, and working closely with creators to build content that moves users through the funnel. About the role This role uniquely blends two disciplines: the analytical rigor of a growth experimenter — forming hypotheses, running tests, and interpreting data — and the operational ownership of a marketplace manager, curating a content ecosystem that serves millions of users. You'll combine operational rigor with a data-driven mindset, running experiments, tracking performance, and turning findings into action. You'll also manage the relationships with our creator and vendor network end-to-end, from onboarding to performance reporting. You'll report into the Growth Business Unit and work cross-functionally with Product, Legal, and Finance. Please note: This role will initially be offered as a 6 month contract position with the possibility to extend. Key Responsibilities - Funnel-driven template strategy : Drive conversion optimization across the user funnel with template library. You will use data to identify high-performing templates and will work closely with creators to build templates that specifically target user activation. - Data-driven experimentation : Develop and test hypotheses to improve user’s retention and usage with template library. You will use quantitative analysis to identify which template contents are effective in high-quality user acquisition, conversion, and retention. - Product discovery: You will proactively identify user needs based on experimental results to define, discover, and build a new template category. - Digital asset management and operations : Manage the end-to-end template submission pipeline with highest detail and category organization. - Content Creator & Vendor Management: Act as the primary account manager for external vendors, managing vendor or seller onboarding, performance reporting, and contract execution while keeping complex cross-functional initiatives moving forward. Skills you need to be successful in this role - Growth or Experimentation Experience: You have experience running A/B tests and funnel analyses with contents, using data-driven hypotheses to improve activation, conversion, and retention of a product. - Content Operations: You have managed a digital content library or asset pipeline end-to-end, keeping multiple stakeholders aligned in a fast-paced environment with a strong eye for detail, quality, and category organization. - Quality Standards: You have a high bar for digital content quality and have previously been responsible for defining what "good" looks like in a digital product context - think templates, planners, notebooks, slides or interactive assets rather than video or social content. You can translate quality standards into clear creator guidelines, and work closely with engineers to understand technical feasibility. - Operationally Rigorous: You've built or significantly improved a process from scratch, providing creative solutions to technical roadblocks. You can clearly articulate what was broken, what you changed, and how you measured the improvement. - Creator or Vendor Management: You have independently managed a pipeline of external vendors or creator partners with minimum supervision while finding ways to streamline and automate repetitive workflows. Familiarity with tools like Zapier, Monday.com, or Zendesk is a plus. Preferred Skills - Skills good to have - Significant experience working in fast-paced tech environments in business, product marketing, product, or operational roles - preferably in digital consumer products, e-commerce or digital subscription platform. - Experience in productivity platforms such as note-taking, creative design, collaboration services is a plus. - Familiarity with BI tools or analytics platforms (e.g. Amplitude, Hex, or equivalent) is a plus. Interview Process - Introductory Call – A conversation with a member of our Talent Acquisition team to learn more about your background, what excites you about the role, and why you’d like to join Goodnotes. - Hiring Manager Interview - Questions around your experience and skills - Panel Interview - Questions around the Goodnotes company values and a short presentation on one of your passions - AI Literacy - A short conversation to gauge your understanding and use of AI tools Note: Employment is contingent upon successful completion of background checks, including verification of employment, education, and criminal records.
