Role Description - Develop and manage relationships with state, county, city, and municipal government agencies within an assigned territory. - Call on government customers through a combination of email, phone, direct mail, virtual meetings, and in‑person visits. - Conduct in‑person customer visits initially within a 100‑mile radius of home location, with potential expansion as business needs evolve. - Participate in local government functions, meetings, and events to identify and engage key decision‑makers and influencers. - Develop and execute regional sales plans to meet or exceed revenue, margin, and growth objectives. - Increase new customer acquisition while expanding existing government accounts through upselling and cross‑selling. - Maintain an active and healthy sales pipeline at a minimum of four times annual revenue targets. - Prepare and deliver budgetary quotes, proposals, and product presentations aligned to agency needs and purchasing requirements. - Maintain a deep understanding of government agency structures and department functions, including public works, police, fire, emergency services, and other municipal operations. - Understand and navigate centralized and decentralized purchasing models, procurement processes, and government buying cycles. - Track and achieve defined activity metrics, including calls, emails, proposals, and meetings. - Forecast sales accurately and present pipeline health, regional performance, and growth opportunities to senior management. - Achieve defined KPIs related to sales volume, close rates, pipeline coverage, and conversion rates. - Develop expert‑level knowledge of Generac products, systems, and sales programs. - Serve as a trusted advisor to customers by effectively positioning Generac mobile solutions. Role Description The National Account Manager develops and implements national sales strategies for increasing sales and profits through national customers. This role calls on executives within national or major (key) accounts and requires regular travel in the Eastern Region. These devices run on a multitude of platforms from small, battery operated microcontrollers to full-blown multicore embedded Linux systems. The embedded team is in a unique position as we own a wide breadth of the technologies that get built into our devices making each day a unique challenge. You may be working on portions of the low-level software/hardware interactions, but equally important is the development of the user applications that run on device. Everything from network protocols, to control algorithms to building enticing graphic UI's. The embedded team is also responsible for developing the test fixtures used to validate the functionality of each device manufactured. These devices are truly products on their own and no less complex considering the hardware and software systems they must interface with. Aside from the in-house technologies, the embedded team is often also responsible for integrating third-party services. For example, we developed the device software stack that allowed us to become one of the first Apple HomeKit accessories on the market as well as more recently one of the first third parties to integrate Amazon Voice Services for Alexa functionality built right into a thermostat and on device Siri integration.
