Senior Content Designer

Function Health

Function Health provides lab testing services to aid in the early detection of thousands of diseases. Focused on empowering patients to take charge of their hea

Designer9 days ago

Role Description We're seeking a Senior Content Designer to own the voice of Function across product and member communication—a sharp thinker who understands that great copy doesn't fill space, it earns trust. This isn't a role for someone who steps in after the UX decisions are made. You're in the room where those decisions happen, shaping how Function thinks, speaks, and connects at every touchpoint. You’ll collaborate closely with Product Design and PMM teams to ensure that every piece of copy feels simple and supportive, and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment. You write with clarity and conviction and know the difference between copy that explains and copy that moves. You can hold the brand voice at scale while tuning to context—a lab result summary reads differently than an onboarding moment, which reads differently than a paywall. You hold all of it with coherence. AI is a new content material, and we treat it that way. This role requires someone who has already internalized that shift. If you thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and are deeply motivated by Function's mission—we'd love to meet you. Key Responsibilities - Product copy across all touchpoints including in-app flows, onboarding, member communications, notifications, action plans, empty states, error handling, and more. - Brand voice stewardship: define, evolve, and defend Function's voice across surfaces and contributors. - Cross-functional collaboration with Design, Product, and Clinical to ensure copy is accurate, human, and on-brand. Always flagging inconsistencies, and raising copy-related edge cases early in the process. - UX writing upstream of design decisions. You’ll shape the full experience. - Data-informed iteration such as A/B testing, member feedback, and performance data as tools for continuous improvement. - Editorial review: You’ll raise the standard of copy org-wide, not just your own output. Qualifications - 5+ years of UX writing or product copywriting experience, ideally in a consumer health, wellness, or complex-product context with a portfolio that demonstrates range. - Fluency across copy types with a consistent quality across all of them: in-product flows, email, campaign headlines, onboarding, error states. - Strong instinct for voice and tone calibration. You can write warmly and precisely for a member reading a sensitive health result, and sharply for a conversion moment, knowing which is which. - Experience in health, wellness, or clinical tech is a meaningful differentiator: comfort with medical terminology, regulatory constraints, and high-stakes information hierarchies. - Collaborative by default. You work closely with designers, PMs, and clinicians, and make the work better through that friction. - Comfort working directly in Figma, managing your own workload across multiple concurrent projects, and writing copy that doesn't need a lot of hand-holding to land. - You have an AI-native mindset, understanding how LLMs generate language, where they produce noise, and how to work with and around them deliberately. - You use AI tooling actively. Claude, Cursor, or equivalent — to accelerate ideation, draft generation, and iteration without sacrificing voice quality. - You can design content for agentic experiences. You've thought carefully about how a product communicates when the system is doing the work, not just responding to a prompt. - You think critically about AI-generated copy: you know when it's useful scaffolding and when it's eroding the voice, and can act accordingly. - *Please share a portfolio of work in order to be considered. Core Values - Ruthless Prioritization: We don’t let perfect get in the way of progress. We move quickly to drive value, not perfection. We prioritize what drives impact. We never compromise on standards of excellence. - Member-First, Always: We design and deliver like we’re caring for someone we love. We create calendar, actionable, human experience. We prioritize responsiveness, peace of mind, and outcomes. We empower members with truth, clarity, and care. - One Team, Moving Fast: We are aligned in purpose, prioritization, and speed. We communicate clearly and respectfully, rallying around shared goals. - Radical Ownership, Relentless Execution: We don’t just ship– we own outcomes and drive results. Role Description The Senior Operations Specialist is the senior individual contributor in the Operational Readiness & Implementation team. This role owns end-to-end delivery of ORI's initiatives — including product launches, growth campaigns, and brand partnerships — while serving as the team's primary subject matter authority and a key advisor to the Manager. This role operates with a high degree of autonomy. The Senior Operations Specialist owns the project plan, drives cross-functional alignment, and is accountable for delivery quality from intake through post-launch stabilization. They are not handed a playbook — they build it. They do not escalate most problems — they solve them. The Senior Ops Specialist is also responsible for the day-to-day direction of the Operations Specialist, providing guidance on task execution, initiative context, and professional development without formal management authority. Qualifications - 3-5 years experience in operations, member operations, program management, implementation, healthcare operations, or operational strategy. - Demonstrated track record of owning and delivering complex, cross-functional initiatives independently. - Deep experience designing operational enablement programs such as SOPs, playbooks, and training frameworks at scale. - Strong executive communication skills; able to synthesize complexity and present clearly to senior audiences. - Strong risk management and systems-thinking capability. - Experience providing informal guidance or direction to junior team members. - High comfort with ambiguity; proven ability to create structure and drive clarity where none exists. - Experience in a high-growth, fast-paced environment with competing priorities and evolving workstreams. Requirements - End-to-End Initiative Ownership - Own project plans for ORI initiatives from intake through post-launch review — defining scope, milestones, dependencies, success criteria, and risk posture. - Serve as the primary point of accountability for delivery quality and on-time execution across assigned programs. - Proactively identify and resolve cross-functional blockers before they impact launch readiness. - Make judgment calls on prioritization, scope management, and risk mitigation within their portfolio. - Operational Readiness Strategy & Risk Assessment - Lead structured impact assessments across workflows, tooling, staffing, SLAs, and member experience. - Develop and maintain risk-based readiness frameworks and launch checklists. - Identify operational failure points and own the mitigation strategy. - Provide formal readiness assessments and go/no-go recommendations to the Manager. - Subject Matter Authority - Serve as the team's deepest SME across all active ORI initiatives — product launches, growth programs, and brand partnerships. - Translate complex operational requirements into clear, actionable guidance for stakeholders at all levels. - Maintain comprehensive institutional knowledge of ORI's initiative portfolio. - Represent ORI as the expert voice in cross-functional planning sessions and executive reviews. - Enablement Architecture - Own ORI's enablement infrastructure — SOPs, playbooks, launch readiness checklists, and training programs for ops stakeholders. - Ensure enablement materials are scalable, evergreen, and built for teams that will execute independently after handoff. - Identify systemic gaps in documentation coverage and develop solutions proactively. - Set the quality standard for enablement outputs across the team. - Cross-Functional Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement - Influence upstream decisions — in product, marketing, and partnerships — that have downstream operational implications. - Advocate for ORI's priorities and capacity in planning forums and stakeholder discussions. - Team Mentor - Provide day-to-day guidance and task direction to the Operations Specialist. - Serve as a thought partner and sounding board when the OS navigates complex or novel situations. - Model strong project management practices, documentation standards, and cross-functional communication norms. - Performance Monitoring & Continuous Improvement - Lead root cause analyses for operational breakdowns. - Drive post-launch stabilization and time-to-stability improvements. - Recommend process, staffing, or tooling adjustments based on performance data. - Decision Rights & Accountability - Owns end-to-end delivery accountability for assigned initiatives. - Makes independent judgment calls on prioritization, scope, and risk mitigation. - Advises the Manager on go/no-go readiness, resourcing gaps, and team capacity. - Resolves most issues autonomously; escalates only the highest-severity risks. Benefits - Competitive salary and benefits package. - Flexible working hours. - Dynamic work environment where creativity and innovation are encouraged.

Head of Special Projects - Technical

Technical Writer14 days ago

Role Description This is not a strategy role. It is not a coordination role. It is not an advisory role. It is a build role for someone with a technical mind who wants real ownership, moves fast, and finds energy in problems that have never been solved before. You will own the most critical external-facing projects that currently have no clear owner. Product launches and new business lines that have to work in the real world. Each project starts from scratch: new domain, new constraints, no template. You will figure out what the right question is, get smart fast, and drive it all the way to done. We operate AI-first. The people who thrive here use modern AI tools as a daily practice to think, build, and ship faster than anyone expects. Not as a talking point. The best version of this person has built real things with their own hands. They started technical and grew beyond it. They know what it feels like when the work has to survive contact with customers, partners, and markets, not just internal stakeholders. They would rather build the map than wait for one. They do the research, write the recommendations, make the call, and keep moving. If your strongest work has been advising others, producing strategy for someone else to execute, or improving internal process, this won't be a fit. Key Responsibilities - Own external and market-facing projects end to end. From scoping the actual problem to delivering a finished outcome. These initiatives are high-priority and undefined by design. - Do the work. Research new domains from scratch, structure the problem, produce real outputs: working products, plans, frameworks you then execute. Not summaries of what others should do. - Build, not just decide. You go deep technically when the project demands it and you ship. - Write clearly and drive alignment. Turn ambiguous situations into a point of view leadership can act on. - Make decisions and move. You will not have perfect information. You make the call anyway and adjust. - Work across functions. Operations, product, clinical, engineering, legal, finance. You go where the project needs you, not where the org chart points. - Drive multi-million dollar initiatives from concept through execution, accountable for outcomes at every stage. Qualifications - STEM academic background, required. - A degree in computer science, engineering, math, physics, biology, chemistry, or a comparable technical field. - You have built real things. - Shipped product, written code, founded a company, stood up a new business line. You can point to things that exist in the world because you made them. - Technical foundation, expanded. - Started in engineering, analytics or a hard technical role and moved into product, founded a VC backed company, or operating roles where they still own the build. A career centered on strategy, advisory, or internal optimization is not a fit for this role. - AI-native. - You use modern AI tools fluently to build and ship. - Doer first. - You do not delegate the hard parts. You go deep, get your hands dirty, and produce work product others can act on. - Moves fast under uncertainty. - Comfortable without a playbook. Makes good calls with incomplete information and adjusts quickly. - Writes well. - Clear, structured, direct. You can take a complex situation and turn it into something people can act on. - Strong judgment. - Knows which details matter and which do not. - High ownership. - Full accountability for outcomes, not just effort. - Mission-driven. - Genuinely believes preventive healthcare is one of the most important problems to get right. Core Experience Requirements - STEM degree from a strong program. - 7-10 years with a track record of owning hard, ambiguous problems and driving them to completion. - Has built something real from scratch. A product, a company, a business line, a technical system. Understands what zero-to-one actually requires. - Has managed complex, multi-stakeholder projects where they held the thread together. - Can point to specific things they built and shipped, with real outcomes and real numbers. - Strong written communication. You can show your work and it holds up. Benefits - Base Salary: $180,000 - $220,000 - Stock options - Comprehensive health, dental, and vision plans for you and your family - Wellness and commuter benefits - Competitive vacation policy - A culture that emphasizes learning - Professional development budget for continued learning - Opportunity to directly impact our mission of saving lives through early cancer detection

Cultural Engagement Director

Function Health

Function Health provides lab testing services to aid in the early detection of thousands of diseases. Focused on empowering patients to take charge of their hea

Director27 days ago

Role Description Culture is the surface Function competes on. Not just in what we post, but in how we earn attention, build trust, and make health feel like something people actually want to be part of. The Director of Cultural Engagement owns that surface end-to-end: social channels, creator and talent relationships, and influencer programs across both organic and paid. This is one of the most visible and consequential roles at Function. It sits at the intersection of brand, growth, and culture, with direct impact on how the world sees us, who advocates for us, and how we grow. You will lead a team of four and manage three direct reports spanning social, content, and talent and creator partnerships. We’re looking for someone who reads culture the way a strategist does and executes it the way an operator does. You understand not just what’s trending but why, and you use that behavioral intelligence to make decisions that are defensible and ahead of the curve. You know when to show up in a cultural moment and when to create one. You build creator and talent relationships that are genuine, strategic, and efficient. You know the difference between influence and noise. If you’ve scaled a social presence and a creator program in the same role, and you can point to the cultural reads behind both, keep reading. What You’ll Own - Social Strategy & Execution at Scale: - Full ownership of multi-channel social growth with an explicit mandate to drive step-changes in reach, engagement, and cultural relevance. Incremental is not the goal. - Build and execute an always-on, performance-driven social strategy that keeps the brand sacred but enables exploration. - Translate company priorities into platform-native content and formats across Instagram, TikTok, X, LinkedIn, Reddit, YouTube, Threads, and Facebook. - Personally model best-in-class real-time engagement: on brand, fast, human, and culturally aware. Walk the walk. - Set the creative bar with exceptional taste and cultural judgment. Create original formats and moments that others follow rather than reacting to what’s already saturated. - Talent, Creator & Influencer Relationships: - Own the full talent and creator relationship strategy across organic and paid efforts, from partnership identification and vetting through ongoing management and performance. - Build and maintain a creator ecosystem that reflects Function’s brand values and reaches the audiences we want to grow into: early adopters, mainstream health consumers, and cultural tastemakers. - Partner with growth and performance teams to ensure influencer programs drive measurable acquisition outcomes, not just reach. - Evaluate partnership fit through a cultural lens: does this person actually reflect where health culture is heading, or where it’s been? - Negotiate and manage talent relationships with rigor, from micro-creators to high-profile partners, and build the infrastructure to do it at scale. - Cultural Intelligence & Trend Leadership: - Bring a proactive cultural read to everything you own. Not just what’s trending today, but where culture is heading in 12 to 24 months and what that means for Function’s positioning. - Decode the behavioral “why” behind audience actions: what they engage with, who they trust, how health fits into their identity, and where Function has permission to show up. - Identify cultural moments worth owning, define the conditions for moments Function should build, and develop criteria for knowing when they’ve landed. - Apply cultural intelligence to ambassador selection, platform strategy, and content direction, removing subjectivity from creative feedback and grounding decisions in real signal. - Map the cultural tensions Function navigates as it scales (access vs. luxury, data empowerment vs. health-tech skepticism) and help the brand move through them with intention. - Team Leadership: - Lead and develop a team of five across social, talent and creator partnerships, with four direct reports. - Set the direction, operating model, and performance standards for the team. Build toward a team that can execute at high quality and speed without you in every decision. - Raise the cultural fluency of the team and the broader organization over time, so cultural intelligence isn’t locked in one person’s workflow. - Cross-Functional Leadership: - Operate as a true strategic partner to marketing, brand, creative, growth, comms, and product. - Influence how stories are told and launched, not just how they’re posted. - Communicate clearly on performance, cultural rationale, and strategic direction to leadership and cross-functional partners. - Performance & Accountability: - Define the metrics that matter across social and creator programs and hold the team accountable to them. - Tie cultural and creator work to business outcomes: acquisition, brand trust, retention, and reach into new audiences. - Move fast without being sloppy. Own your calls and your numbers. Qualifications - 7+ years owning social strategy, content, and creator or influencer programs at scale, ideally spanning both functions in one role. - A proven track record of meaningful channel growth across multiple platforms and a creator program that drove real business outcomes. - Experience leading and developing teams, with at least 2–3 direct reports. - Deep operating experience in real time: cultural moments, news cycles, launches, live engagement. - A genuine cultural intelligence practice: you can explain not just what performed, but why, and what it signals about where the audience is heading. - Strong analytical instincts and fluency tying social and creator performance to growth metrics. - Experience managing creator and talent relationships across the full spectrum, organic and paid, micro and macro. Requirements - Fast, decisive, and comfortable being accountable in public. - Detail-obsessed, but not precious. - Equally comfortable in strategy decks and in the comments section. - Opinionated about culture and curious about what’s driving it. - A builder of teams, systems, and trust with talent. Benefits - Competitive salary and benefits package. - Flexible working hours. - A dynamic work environment where creativity and innovation are encouraged.
