With more than 200 team members, many of whom are Indigenous, we deliver services in English, French, and several Indigenous languages across the country. Castlemain ensures Claimants can access, understand, and respond to the Settlement, while providing support to complete and submit claims. This permanent full-time position is open to candidates who demonstrate a working proficiency in the Inuktitut language. About the Opportunity: - Provide trauma-informed, culturally safe support to Class Members (virtually and in-person), including guidance on claim forms, resources, and the claims process. - Collaborate with Claims Helpers to ensure coordinated, effective support and address any service gaps. - Build and maintain relationships with communities, organizations, and local partners. - Assist Claimants with claim completion, status updates, appeals, and connections to mental health, legal, and cultural support. - Participate in ongoing training and learning to strengthen skills and deliver effective support throughout the Settlement Claims Process. About You: You experience working with Indigenous Peoples and communities (three years or more), developed through community, professional roles, or lived experience, as well as: - Strong knowledge and awareness of Indigenous culture, history, and the impacts of trauma. - An in-depth understanding of colonial policies, discriminatory laws and the impacts of colonization on Indigenous peoples as well as governance structure of Indigenous communities. - Ability to travel across Canada; up to 30% of the role, with individual trips of up to 7-10 days in duration. - An intermediate understanding of technology and online platforms, or a strong aptitude for learning new tools quickly. - Ability to access your local airport and possible nearby work locations. - Access to a quiet workspace and internet. - Bilingual proficiency in English and Inuktitut. Successful candidates will be required to complete both a Criminal Record Check (CRC) and a Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) as a condition of employment. Compensation: Starting annual compensation of $60,000-$65,000 (full-time equivalent) plus a rewarding benefits package. Candidates living in northern or remote communities may be eligible for a Northern Allowance. Eligibility and tier placement are based on Canada Revenue Agency zone designations.
