Position Overview Candidates in Canada must reside in EST or CST time zones We are seeking a Staff Accountant to support the corporate and U.S. operations of Blink Charging, a US publicly traded company. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, hands-on accountant with strong GL fundamentals, month-end close experience, and an interest in expanding into equity awards accounting and administration. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, takes ownership of their work, and is eager to grow within a public-company finance organization. Here's What You'll Do: - Prepare and post monthly journal entries (accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, intercompany). - Perform balance sheet and P&L account reconciliations with clear supporting documentation. - Support the month-end and quarter-end close process, meeting tight deadlines, according the Controller guidance. - Assist with financial statement preparation and audit support for a public company. - Support equity awards accounting and administration, including stock-based compensation entries, tracking, and coordination with HR, Legal, and external providers. - Maintain accurate accounting records in accordance with U.S. GAAP, SOX and internal controls. - Identify opportunities to improve processes, documentation, and efficiency. What You Bring to the Table: - 3–5 years of general ledger accounting experience, preferably in a corporate environment, following few years with a Big 10 audit firm. - Solid understanding of GAAP and core accounting concepts. - Hands-on experience with month-end close and reconciliations. - Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, reconciliations). - Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) - Exposure to stock-based compensation / equity accounting is a strong plus (or strong interest in learning). - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. - CPA or CA track is a plus, but not required. - High attention to detail and strong sense of ownership. - Ability to work independently while collaborating with a broader finance team. - Comfortable operating in a public-company, SOX-controlled environment. - Curious, proactive, and eager to grow into increased responsibility.
Position Overview The SOX Compliance Business Manager leads the day‑to‑day activities of the SOX program, including scoping, documentation, testing, issue remediation, and management reporting. The role reports to the Director of Internal Controls and partners closely with Finance, IT, and business process owners to ensure internal controls over financial reporting are designed, implemented, and operating effectively in line with SOX requirements and COSO. Here's What You'll Do: - Develop and maintain the annual SOX compliance testing plan, including timelines, milestones, and resource needs for testing and reporting. - Coordinate SOX risk assessment to identify key financial reporting risks, significant accounts, processes, and in‑scope entities. - Oversee documentation of end‑to‑end processes, risks, and controls (RCM, narratives, flowcharts) in alignment with the COSO framework and company policies. - Perform, lead and review design and operating effectiveness testing of key controls in collaboration with SOX analysts including sampling, walkthroughs, and re‑performance, ensuring sufficient evidence is retained. - Identify, assess, and document control deficiencies, determine severity (deficiency vs significant deficiency vs material weakness), and work with owners on remediation plans and retesting. - Monitor remediation status, track action plans to closure, and escalate overdue or high‑risk items to senior management and the audit committee as needed. - Prepare clear, concise SOX status reports and dashboards for management, including testing progress, issues, remediation, and overall control conclusions. - Serve as a liaison with external auditors on SOX scope, testing approaches, documentation requests, and issue resolution. - Provide subject matter expertise, training and guidance to process and control owners on SOX requirements, control design, documentation standards, and evidence expectations/requirements. - Support related internal controls and governance related initiatives where they intersect with SOX. What You Bring to the Table: - Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field. - 5-8+ years of progressive experience in SOX, internal audit, external audit, or internal controls, with a strong focus on ICFR. - Solid knowledge of SOX 404 requirements, PCAOB standards, and internal control frameworks such as COSO. - Professional designation such as CPA, CA, CIA, or CISA is highly preferred. - Experience working with ERP and GRC tools (e.g., NetSuite, Salesforce, etc.) and commonly used GRC platforms (e.g. Workiva, Resolver, etc.) - Strong understanding of financial reporting processes, internal controls, and risk assessment techniques. - Analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to evaluate control design and identify practical, risk‑based improvements. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to explain SOX concepts to non‑experts and influence senior stakeholders. - High attention to detail, strong organization, and ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and deadlines. - Collaborative team mindset with the confidence to challenge, negotiate, and drive remediation across functions.
Position Overview The SOX Analyst is responsible for executing walkthroughs and control testing, maintaining documentation, and assisting with the evaluation of control deficiencies for key business processes and controls. The role works closely with Finance, Operations, IT, and External Auditors to help ensure controls are designed and operating effectively in accordance with SOX requirements and the company’s internal control framework. Here's What You'll Do: - Perform walkthroughs with process and control owners to understand end‑to‑end business processes, systems, and key business and IT general controls (ITGC) supporting financial reporting. - Prepare and update process documentation, including narratives, flowcharts, and risk and control matrices (RCMs) for in‑scope entities, accounts, and processes. - Execute design and operating effectiveness testing of key controls (manual, automated, and IT‑dependent), following a defined SOX testing methodology. - Obtain and analyze populations (e.g., listings of transactions, user access, changes) and select samples for testing in line with sampling guidance. - Develop and document test procedures, evidence, and results in clear, well‑structured workpapers that support conclusions and review by senior staff and auditors. - Identify control exceptions, assist in assessing their root cause, potential impact, and help draft issue descriptions, and preliminary recommendations. - Assist in the performance of risk analysis, no-harm analysis, and compensating controls identification as a result of control gaps. - For remediation items, obtain and review remediation evidence, and conduct follow‑up testing to confirm issues are closed. - Assist in monitoring status of testing against the SOX schedule to ensure deadlines are met. What You Bring to the Table: - Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, information systems, or a related field. - 3+ years of experience in audit, SOX/ICFR testing, or a related control or compliance role. - Good understanding of SOX 404 requirements and internal control concepts (e.g., Information provided by entity (IPE) requirements, key vs non‑key controls, deficiency evaluation). - Familiarity with financial statement processes (e.g., revenue, payables, payroll, close and reporting) and/or ITGC domains (access security, change management, IT operations, backup/recovery, logical security, and interfaces). - Progress toward a professional designation (CPA, CA, CIA, CISA, or similar) is considered an advantage. - Strong attention to detail, documentation quality, and adherence to methodology and deadlines. - Solid analytical and problem‑solving skills, including ability to interpret control evidence and draw supportable conclusions. - Clear written and verbal communication skills for documenting workpapers and interacting with process owners and auditors. - Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks in a time‑sensitive environment. - Proficiency with Excel and common productivity tools; familiarity with ERP systems and GRC/controls platforms is an asset.
