Role Description The Contracts Specialist / Senior Contracts Specialist supports AMETEK’s Controls Southeast, Inc. business unit by drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and managing a wide range of commercial agreements. This role partners closely with business stakeholders (Sales and Commercial Operations) and the Finance Department to facilitate efficient contract execution while identifying and mitigating commercial and legal risk. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, business minded, and comfortable working independently in a high volume, deadline driven environment. This role is not administrative in nature; it requires sound judgment, contract negotiation skills, and the ability to escalate issues appropriately. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Review, draft, negotiate, and edit commercial agreements, including but not limited to: - Confidentiality / Non Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) - Sales, Supply, Services, and Purchase Agreements - Master Supply and Master Services Agreements - Consulting Agreements - Sales Representative and Distributor Agreements - Partner with commercial, sales, supply chain, and operations teams to ensure contract terms align with key business objectives - Identify, assess, and communicate commercial and legal risk; propose practical risk mitigation strategies consistent with company policy - Ensure compliance with AMETEK contracting policies, approval matrices, and delegation of authority requirements - Manage and maintain standard contract templates and clause libraries in coordination with the Law Department - Facilitate contract execution by coordinating reviews, approvals, and issue resolution across internal stakeholders - Investigate and resolve contractual questions and disputes in collaboration with Legal and business partners - Escalate legal, factual, or risk related issues to the Finance/Law Department as appropriate - Coordinate with Risk Management on contractual insurance requirements and related provisions - Support continuous improvement initiatives related to contract processes, cycle time, and standardization Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Business, Legal Studies, or a related field - Contracts Specialist: Minimum 3–5 years of experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts - Senior Contracts Specialist: Minimum 5–8 years of progressive experience negotiating complex commercial agreements with limited supervision - Demonstrated experience supporting internal business clients in a customer service oriented manner Preferred Education and Experience - Manufacturing, industrial, construction, or engineered to order contract experience - Paralegal certificate from an accredited program - Experience working with multinational or matrixed organizations Core Competency Requirements - Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and written communication skills - Ability to manage high volumes of contracts while meeting deadlines and balancing competing priorities - Sound judgment and ability to identify risk and escalate issues appropriately - Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams - Experience with automated order entry systems or contract management tools is a plus - Comfortable working independently in a remote environment while collaborating across functions
