Where Your Career is a Force for Good! The American Red Cross is hiring 8 part-time Summer Camp Counselors in Philadelphia. The positions are temporary running 6 weeks at 20 hours per week. No benefits offered. MUST be 18 years of age. MUST have a current driver's license and be willing to drive. WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW: The Summer Camp Counselor position supports the Youth Disaster Preparedness Program within the Southeastern Pennsylvania Disaster Cycle Services Region. Counselors deliver disaster preparedness education to Philadelphia Parks and Recreation youth summer camp locations July 13 - August 14 from 9am - 1pm Monday - Friday within the City of Philadelphia. Counselors participate in a one-week onboarding training July 6 - 11 from 8:30am - 5pm. Counselors will drive Red Cross fleet vehicles to travel to camp locations. Counselors need to pass a child protective services background check along with a good driver record as reported by the Division of Motor Vehicles. The "Save a Life" Summer Camp Program saves lives and prevents injury by providing instruction for Disaster Cycle Services youth curriculum supporting the Prepare with Pedro, Be Red Cross Ready and Hands Only CPR programs. Prepare with Pedro is a 30-45-minute presentation that provides home fire safety and preparedness education to youth ages 4-8 in camp settings by following Pedro the Penguin as he learns how to be prepared and take action before, during and after an emergency. The Be Red Cross Ready program is a 30-45-minute presentation that provides home fire safety and local hazards emergency preparedness education to youth ages 9-12 in camp settings educating on how to be prepared and take action before, during and after an emergency. The Hands Only CPR program is a 15 - 25-minute presentation that teaches youth ages 9-12 how to check for consciousness, call 911 and give continuous chest compressions instructing bystanders how to deliver life-saving care until professional responders arrive. Utilization of tools for this program includes a standardized curriculum, workbook, quizzes, and activities that have been constructed with the help of curriculum and hazard experts. Presenter tools are used to foster consistency and fidelity to the program's goals and objectives. The highly interactive presentations address home fire safety, local natural hazards, psycho-social coping skills and household preparedness steps. Team member roles rotate daily across a team of three to four members to include being a driver, presenter, presentation assistant and administrative support. Role Description The Senior Response Program Manager will be responsible for: - Operating as a Response Lead, managing and monitoring performance of programmatic portfolios of any events in coordination with regional teams and stakeholders. - Supporting regional teams on proposal development in areas of disasters and crisis. - Contributing to the ISD capacity to rapidly deploy subject matter experts in support of the global Red Cross and Red Crescent network response. - Providing leadership and expertise to operations to increase performance and improve service delivery. - Reporting to the International Services Response and Recovery Senior Director. - This position is remote based anywhere in the U.S. Qualifications - 4-year degree in international development, disaster management, climate change adaptation, water and sanitation, environmental rehabilitation, organization development or related field required. We are seeking a Lead Data Engineer for one of our highly dynamic product teams to help do this exciting work! As a Lead Data Engineer, you will be part of our team that is modernizing and transforming our data and reporting capabilities across multiple verticals by implementing a new modernized data architecture and technical stack. The Lead Data Engineer will help develop, test, maintain and support an enterprise data warehouse system and corresponding data and will be responsible for database design and implementation of agreed upon standards. This position requires an innovative engineer who is passionate about data, data quality & automation. The ideal candidate will possess strong data warehousing experience and the ability to develop and deploy scalable data pipelines that make data management and analytics/reporting faster, more insightful, and more efficient. The work location is remote with in-person meetings as necessary. Preference for candidate to work an East coast schedule for coordination with off-shore resources and ability to come into a Red Cross office as necessary. This position also requires the ability to work a rotational weekend support schedule once every 8 weeks.
