Qualifications - Proven QA lead experience, having overseen at least 3 game projects from conception to release, including console game testing. - Proven track record in successfully leading similar teams in previous role(s). - Advanced skills in bug/defect tracking using tools like JIRA and a deep understanding of game development components and QA methodologies. - Excellent communication abilities to facilitate seamless coordination between departments and teams. - Experience managing outsourced QA partners. - Strong written communication skills for documenting and presenting test plans clearly to the full team. About the company: Your role: As a Game Designer at Aesir Interactive, you will be the bridge between abstract design concepts and tangible gameplay. You won't just write design documents - you will define, connect and build the features of our systemically driven games. You will interpret systems and mechanics through the lens of player feel and technical feasibility, producing playable prototypes in Unreal Engine 5 that justify your design choices. Working closely with system designers, artists, and programmers, you will ensure that gameplay systems are not only fun but also scalable and efficiently implemented. The kind of stuff you`ll be doing: - Rapid Prototyping: Bringing mechanics to life using UE5 Blueprints to test feel, pacing, and flow. - System Implementation: Translating design docs into functional game systems, ensuring a smooth hand-off to the programming team. - UI/UX: Designing and scripting the technical backend of menus and HUDs to ensure a frictionless player experience. - Input & Feel: Refining character control, camera behaviours, and input schemes for PC and Console. - Validated Documentation: Creating and maintaining design documents informed and supported by prototypes created using Figma, UE5 or any other necessary tools. - Cross-Discipline Collaboration: Working with programmers and artists to see through final implementation while maintaining the creative direction.
