Role Description Heritage MEP is looking for a hands-on Controller to help build the finance infrastructure for a growing multi-entity mechanical services platform. This is not just a traditional close-and-report role. You’ll work closely with the CFO to improve processes, standardize reporting, strengthen controls, and help scale the accounting function across multiple operating companies. Our platform currently includes 10 operating companies, with additional companies expected to join. The environment is dynamic, acquisition-driven, and operationally complex. We are also in the middle of a Sage Intacct implementation, so this role will play a major part in helping shape how accounting runs across the platform going forward. Role Description The Corporate Controller reports directly to the CFO and functions as a hands-on leader within the Finance and Accounting team. The Controller is responsible for the company’s accounting operations in the US and Malaysia, with subscription sales into over 70 countries, as well as financial transactions, reporting and compliance functions. Most immediately, our Corporate Controller will help to lead the accounting for Staritas’ recent carveout, including the stand-up of accounting and transaction reporting systems. This includes building a high-performance team, implementing best-in-class systems and processes including NetSuite, Zone Advanced Billing, and Salesforce, and developing and implementing world-class reporting and analytics to drive critical data-based decision-making. Throughout, this role will collaborate as a key member of the management team to lead our accounting policies and principles, practices, procedures and initiatives, ensuring that we have the proper internal controls to maintain our books and records in accordance with GAAP. As our principal accounting leader, you will lead and perform technical accounting research, coordinate all external audits, provide accurate information for all tax filings, be a leader and mentor to the accounting team, while also having extensive interaction with our senior leadership team and our private equity owners. This is a highly visible role with high growth potential.
