• Learn ACT Power Services North America generation SCADA architecture and new project development and implementation process. • Assist with engineering analysis, design review, modification and upgrades of solar renewable energy projects. • Support the maintenance and troubleshooting of SCADA systems for solar PV assets. • Support the development of site UI/UX in Ignition, as well as Power-BI dashboards. • Become familiar with the ACT Power Services Cyber Security framework and support compliance across all solar projects. • Learn to program and test Schweitzer (SEL) protection relays (e.g., SEL-351, SEL-487) and SEL-3530 RTACs under senior guidance. • Assist with PLC hardware configuration and basic maintenance for Siemens and Emerson/GE PLCs. • Practice and apply basic programming for PLC ladder logic and functional blocks. • Utilize object-oriented programming to support team automation tasks (Python experience is a plus). • Assist in preparing performance monitoring tools and basic programming applications. • Assist with project commissioning checks and signal check-out activities for SCADA communications. • Maintain organized documentation of specification designs, drawings, bills of materials, and test data. • Follow test procedures to verify hardware and software designs. • Learn and ensure engineering designs comply with NERC-CIP, UL, IEEE, and ISA requirements.
• Design, build, and implement ACT’s QA/QC program from the ground up, establishing standards, processes, inspection frameworks, and documentation protocols • Define and enforce quality standards across all O&M and construction activities, ensuring conformance to contract requirements, client expectations, and regulatory standards • Develop and maintain QA/QC manuals, inspection checklists, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all field and reporting functions • Establish quality metrics, KPIs, and reporting cadences to drive continuous improvement across all business lines • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective action processes for quality escapes, recurring deficiencies, and customer-reported issues • Oversee quality audits and inspections at active project and O&M sites; review findings and drive closure of non-conformances • Partner with operations, project management, and field teams to integrate QA/QC requirements into project planning and execution from day one • Recruit, hire, onboard, and develop a high-performing QA/QC team including inspectors, field quality leads, and program support staff • Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, and performance management to direct reports; set clear expectations and hold team members accountable to ACT’s standards • Foster a culture of quality, continuous improvement, and accountability across all organizational levels • Collaborate with operations and AOT leadership to identify staffing needs and build team capacity in alignment with project pipeline growth • Serve as a senior resource within the Asset Optimization Team (AOT) to support the planning and execution of large, complex solar projects • Assist AOT project managers in scoping, estimating, scheduling, and executing high-priority O&M and construction projects at utility-scale and commercial solar PV facilities • Conduct site inspections and equipment assessments to inform project planning, repair strategies, and resource allocation • Provide on-site quality oversight during critical project phases, ensuring all work meets ACT’s and clients’ quality standards • Coordinate ACT internal teams, subcontractors, and labor resources to ensure timely, on-budget project delivery • Support AOT closeout activities including final inspections, punch list resolution, and submission of client deliverables • Own the P&L for the QA/QC function, including budgeting, cost control, headcount planning, and financial performance reporting • Collaborate with project and operations leadership to ensure quality program costs are appropriately scoped, estimated, and recovered in project pricing • Identify opportunities to optimize operational efficiency and reduce cost of quality across the organization • Provide regular financial reporting and forecasting to leadership, with clear visibility into program spend vs. budget • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients on all quality-related matters, including quality plan presentations, non-conformance reporting, and corrective action updates • Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with key clients by demonstrating proactive quality leadership and transparent communication • Lead contractor and subcontractor quality alignment meetings; establish expectations, review submittals, and enforce compliance with ACT’s quality requirements • Negotiate and resolve quality disputes with clients and contractors in a professional, solutions-oriented manner • Escalate unresolved issues appropriately while keeping clients and internal leadership informed throughout the resolution process • Prepare and deliver formal quality reports, lessons learned, and program updates for client and executive audiences
