Role Description BB&E is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Cost Engineer to join our team, providing engineer support for Air Force life-cycle cost engineering requirements/projects at the Air Force Civil Engineer Center (AFCEC), Operations Directorate (AFCEC/CO) located at Tyndall, AFB in Panama City, FL. Scope of work includes providing professional reviews, assessments, and offering expert opinions regarding cost estimate and cost engineering work to support AF base/installations. This position can be filled with qualified individuals who can telework who have the appropriate technical background requirements (KSAs shown below) and experience. - Provide technical reviews and assistance during the development, update and/or revisions of cost estimates, cost engineering and cost risk analysis work, models, studies and reports that use specialized software for determining project results/findings. - Assist in documenting program files, organizing files, and providing administrative support. - Estimated tasks include: - Providing professional reviews, assessments, updates and/or revisions of 70-80 cost estimates annually. - Performing consolidation of information from multiple studies for the development of 15-20 status reports annually. - Accomplishing 10-15 briefings annually. - Assist with preparation of training of 15-20 cost estimate training plans and courses. - Conduct one (1) to three (3) site visits annually; consolidate, document, and track 80-120 requests in CE DASH annually. Qualifications - U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain security clearance at the minimum level of “SECRET” is required. - Certifications: Professional Engineer License (PE) and Association for Advancement of Cost Engineering International (AACEi) Certified Cost Engineer is required. - Extensive knowledge of AACEI cost estimating methodologies, Government criteria, and industry standard technical requirements is required. - Must be familiar with all DoD and AF engineering policies/concepts. - Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences. - Software: Proficiency using MS Office software including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. - Self-Starter: Highly motivated, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines autonomously. Role Description The Berkman Klein Center is hiring practitioners from industry and elsewhere to develop products, tools, and protocols for existing and new social media platforms. Teams of technologists will generate and drive new ideas, projects, and experiments. The output will range from white papers to fully-functional product prototypes. A Senior Engineer will work with a small team of engineers to design, build, and test new kinds of social media technology. We are looking for generalists, engineers that can work on building technology that spans the entire stack, from back-end storage to front-end user interfaces. In concert with staff including other engineers, designers, product managers, and leadership, the engineer will ensure that the new technology satisfies traditional engineering goals like scalability and robustness while meeting goals that center responsible technology principles (e.g., giving users more control over their data, or strengthening a user's ability to defend against online harassment).
